You can smoke and take the drug with no adverse effects. I know someone who took Wellbutrin (don't know the dose) for depression. She ended up quitting smoking without even trying (or wanting) to. She got so frustrated with the lack of "chemical reward" after lighting up that she quit taking Wellbutrin. A few months later, cigarrettes "worked" again but she went back on Wellbutrin and hasn't smoked more than probably a few "social smokes" in over 6 years. She says cigarrettes do nothing for her (she's still on Wellbutrin).

Nothing but defeating the purpose for which you are taking the drug, unless you are taking it for depression. Although Zyban works to reduce nicotine craving, it doesn't "punish" you for lighting up. When you get to the point where you decide not to buy the next pack or bum the next cigarette, Zyban or Welbutrin can help a lot.
