Well they are regular military pilots who test and interview for the spots on the team. The team is actually more public relations than anything else. they are friendly sharp military people who are tight with each other---watch a live show--they are snapping salutes and respecting each other the whole show--they answer questions, sign posters--and of course fly in tight formations. they are the cream of the crop.

First of all you need to be a Navy or Marine fighter pilot or ground crew member. Then you need to be one of the best at your job. Volunteer for it, and if there is an opening and you do better than all the other applicants in the interview process, then all you need is "lots of luck".
