i am trying to eat three times a day and one snack, but when i am super super busy and dont have something healthy at hand what is best; not eating anything at all and skipping a meal/snack or eating something like a small bag of chips, a few cookies, a snickers or something not so healthy?

Why don't you try to plan ahead and bring an apple, some crackers, or a healthy snack with you? There are plenty of portable healthy snacks.
Non fat yogurt
1/2 sandwich on whole wheat bread
any piece of fresh fruit
dried fruit
small bag of baby carrots w/ a slice of cheese
unsalted nuts
small piece of cooked chicken or fish

I sometimes bring a small salad in a zip lock bag. I put lettuce wrapped in a damp paper towel to keep it fresh, along with a small separate plastic container of vinaigrette. It tastes great, and the fiber is filling!

Try and keep up with your healthy eating plan. Save the cheating for food that's worth it, not just stuff that's convenient.

skipping a meal is always worst then eating something that is not healthy. when you don't eat the body has zero nutrients or calories to burn so the metabolic rate will slow and the levels of the catabolic hormone cortisol will increase.
