Ginn ends up owning the 01 and the 15 cars. As the owner of the 15 he can switch his owner points from another car he owns (the 13 or 14). The old 15 owner points still belong to the previous owner.
Why does everyone feel bad for Mark Martin? He still has his same deal with Ginn for this year and next, just a different student.

And Frye stays with the organization, and everybody moves to Ginn's shop. It does sound more like a 'merger' than a 'buyout'.
This might help all four remaining teams (1, 01, 8, 15). DEI didn't have one of those coveted seven-post shakers, right? Well, now they do. And while all the fans are mad at Teresa right now, there are some good people at DEI. I know I'd rather get helpful tuneup hints from Truex's crew than from the 13 and 14 teams.
Speaking of which, it's Nemechek and Marlin who are the real losers in all this wheeling and dealing. At their age they'll probably get hung out to dry. Back to Busch and Truck, maybe? I hate watching veteran drivers go into a long sad decline.
Wonder what'll happen to Regan Smith? Oh well, someone will snap him up. Good kid.
Of course everything is in the Rumor category now. Tomorrow we find out what's really happening. :-) Thanks for posting this.

Thanks, I just got on here today and hadn't heard. Wow, it seems to have happened very quickly but who knows how long they've been talking? Very interesting dynamics at DEI now. What's Almirola's future with them, I think he's a bright new talent. The funny thing is Bobby spent so much money on equipment and molding the 01 team into a contender that it seems like such a waste. MJ, do you know how this will affect Mark's plans for next year?

But a total team sellout in mid-season? Sumpin' wrong here folks.

Hi, Jackie: Things just get more interesting all the time. DEI cars, with Childress motors, with Ginn drivers, and Theresa in charge? Did I get that right? Just speculating...

ginn racing was having a problem getting sponsors, but i think if they would have landed kyle busch they would have been all right. i think it is a bad move. now teresa will have someone else to boss around. think ginn would have learned from jr o well

How are they allowed to absorb the point from a defunct team and add it to a current driver? Doesn't seam fair does it? That's like saying that Hendrick fires Casey Mears, takes the points from the 25 car and adds them to Jimmy Johnson's total, to boost his numbers. Something is serious wrong with this picture.
