Well, 8 weeks old for a hamster, is usually the age that a hamster needs to be taken from his mother and siblings. Then, they become non-social and will fight with another hamster that they are being housed with. The best thing that you can do, is to seperate the two. I have two female dwarf hamsters. I remember when I brought them home together, they would fight non-stop, it seemed. But, one day we found one of them with a bloody eye. So, we seperated them. They can't even play with each other anymore with out fighting. Though lots of people will tell you that hamsters are social, it just doesn't seem true, unless they are less then 8 weeks old. So, buying (or unless you have another cage), a cage would be good.
Good luck, thanks for taking my answer!

Never ever put two or more Syrian (a.k.a golden) hamsters in the same cage. But if you have say dwarf hamsters they will live happily together though fights may still occur.

NOPE!!!
No matter what, (females together, males together, or one of each) they will start fighting.
These fights are to the death, so 1 hamster per cage.
NO EXCEPTIONS!!!
Other species, like the dwarfs can sometimes live together, but NOT SYRIANS!!!

No.
Once they hit hammie puberty and the hormones are flowing then they will fight to the death.
Separate them immediately - they're not all that far off of reaching maturity.

Syrians can't be kept together once they get older. They will kill each other.

Male and female, males only, or what? They will fight over territory, young or mature. Is like the empires, I am , I reign, I, I I. Stupid isn't, they learn from humans.
