As everyone says... washing with cold water closes the pores... or use an ice cube and rub it on the face to close the pores

Soaking with a warm wet cloth then GENTLE squeezing to bring out compacted oils. After that a cold compress. Listen, TRUE story, on Home Shopping Network Jennifer Stallone sells this stuff called "Insta-Tox" that tightens the skin of older women so their wrinkles look diminished (I know I use it.) Anyway Jennifer suggested that you put it on your nose and cheeks to tighten the pores, and DARNED if it doesn't work. I pat a little on my nose because I have big pores - I ALWAYS have since my teens - and it really helps. Seems to cut down on shininess too. It's about $23 a tube and it lasts a long time. The tightening effect lasts until you wash it off but you can reapply anytime you need to throughout the day.

Contrary to popular belief you cannot open and close pores at will.Once a pore is stretched it is stretched. You can however minimize the appearance of pores by using products that reduce shine.Try SK-II Facial Clear Solution.

put a piece of ice or something relatively cold on your face. pores open when you're hot, like during showers. the opposite temperature is needed to close them back up. or just face your face for a little while.

I get a facial done where they put your fa in this steamer thing,
and it opens my pores
and then they exfoliate my skin
and scrape out blackheads and stuff
and then they lay a washcloth that was dipped in ice cold water on my face,
and it closes my pores.
and then they apply a mud mask which helps with redness and further closes my pores.
You could do it all at home though.
