Yes I have heard that point of view about hell being at the center of the earth.
I believe that hell is in another dimension that cannot be reached in this physical body.

My personal (and Christian) view is that the closest thing there is to Hell in current existence is Earth. If Hell is where the Devil resides, and where evil happens, and where dead people go when they die, then yup, it's Earth. The Bible says that Lucifer was cast to Earth. Evil lives in the heart of all men on Earth. The Bible even says that the dead know nothing, and that when Jesus returns THEN he will take the dead first. So of course when we die we are either buried in the earth or our ashes spread across it. When Jesus is done taking everyone/thing that's going to heaven, I would suppose all the rest would be cast into the lake of fire, wouldn't it? If you have a sense of humor though, you may find it interesting to know that there are several cities named "Hell" including in Montana and Nevada.

Hell is right here on earth. It's up to us humans to either make or lives heaven or hell. Don't worry, there is no physical fire where devil would hang you upside down. That was myth was created by feeble human beings who wanted to tame human race with fear and it actually worked..lol.
You create heaven and hell in your own life. If you do bad deeds, you have to constantly live with it. Your mind doesn't let you forget about what you did. Day and night it haunts you until you repent. You can lie to others, but you can't lie to your self and that's HELL! You can go around doing all the bad things you want to do, but ultimately how can you run away from your own self.
Now if you are a nice human being and lead your life honestly, earth becomes heaven for you.

According to Dante's Inferno there are several circles of hell.
The Circles of Hell
Virgil guides Dante through the nine circles of Hell. The circles are concentric, each new one representing further and further evil, culminating in the center of the earth, where Satan is held, bound. Each circle's sin is punished in a fashion fitting their crime: the sinner is afflicted by the chief sin he committed for all of eternity. Sinners such as these are found in Purgatory, but those in hell justify their sin and are unrepentant. Furthermore, those in hell have knowledge of the past and future, but not of the present. This is a joke on them in Dante's mind because after the Final Judgment, time ends; those in hell would then know nothing.

Honestly I think heaven and hell are in "another" place. The Bible also talks about the man wanting water in hell...from the man in heaven, so they would have to be pretty close to each other??
I dont know the answer to this..but look forward to finding it out when I am in heaven with my Lord. :)

It most likely is here on earth, some might feel they are living in it now. Some others working their way out, others, at the threshold of heaven. Others heaven. Maybe this is it...and we are working our way back home, babe.

It was a trash dump outside the walls of ancient Jerusalem. It's not there anymore.
So, take heart - there *is* no "hell".
