At what time do you give the toast?

We are having dinner, so would after the salad (before the entree) be good?

no no no people...i'm not rich...there is no wedding party or dj.

it's just a friend giving the toast

You can have the toast at any time when the guests are seated, rather than dancing or walking around. Good times include right after the bride and groom enter the reception, or before or between courses of the meal, so yes, after the salad and before the entree would be great.

The DJ usually will help you coordinate when to do what at the reception. Usually the toast come before everyone sits down to eat, so before the salad or any food is served.

I've been to 3 weddings this summer and they've all had the toast just after the bride and groom are announced , just before anyone begins eating.

Depends how your related.If just a friend then after the best man and father and everybody else.
