42 ( sorry I had to be a smart Alek) the meaning of life, is to live as well as you can ( not materially but physically and mentally) It is to experience everything possible and look at each day with fresh eyes. It is to view everything as a new possibility and to cherish each moment as if it was your last, Life is about living, breathing and experiencing and it is also about doing the best to help your fellow human whatever they may be, that drunk on the street corner could one day be you so look at him with fresh eyes knowing that until hard times he may have been a brilliant lawyer or a schoolteacher.

Many of the answerers were similar to "The meaning of life is what you make it, ", but I strongly disagree.

Real meaning comes from living for a real purpose and real purpose requires a plan and a plan requires a Planner.

“Unless you assume a God, the question of life’s purpose is meaningless.” –Bertrand Russell (noted 20th century mathematician and philosopher)

If we reject God as the source of all purpose and meaning, then we are really searching for feelings and not the reality. We can deceive ourselves and pretend that we can generate real meaning when, in reality, all we can generate are feelings.

But it makes sense to me that if God exists, He must have put the need for meaning into our human nature in order to point us to seek Him.

Real life - is in Jesus Christ, He says, 'I am the way, the truth, and the Life, no man cometh to the Father except through me'

So, in essence, it is in the Spiritual sense that we are alive, Alive in Christ.

The Spirit lives Forever, in heaven,

But if you disobey God, the Spirit is dead.

So, all in all, death of the Spirit is much, much worse, than physical death, for it leads to one place and one place only, to Hell.

We must take up our cross and follow Jesus, in order to be truely alive.

Life is eternal. The breath of life originated from God. It is more than just a body going about the daily motions. It is about fulfilling God's eternal plan for a human being. Sin has separated Man from God. Hence, Jesus came to bridge the gap. When you accept Him, you are accepting eternal life. Try and see for yourself! Guaranteed to please!

There is no meaning to life except the meaning you give. And that is the beauty of LIfe. The other name for life is God. And God, Life and Freedom are one. God gives us freedom to create and give meaning to our life. You are the one who gives meaning to your life. The meaning to everything is the meaning you give.
