First off, to lump all atheists together is rude. That's like lumping all Christians with Hitler. I'm pretty sure no one likes to be grouped with one or two poor examples of their culture. Its not good representation.
I'm positive there are some pretty hateful atheists out there. Just like there are some really hateful theists out there (ie: Christians.)
But hate isn't something anyone should harbor.

I have had more hateful things said to me by Christians than by any other group defined by their faith or non-faith. Atheists are not, as a general rule, the ones being rude here on R/S either. Again, it is mostly the Christians I see doing the majority of trash talking.

No! Atheists are people too. They lack the basic humanitarian concepts of organized religion and have to try a whole lot harder to do things the right way. God is love. If you have no God you have no love. The definition of love is to want the very best for another person. You don't say those hateful things to people if you want the very best for them.

They don't. Atheists are actually better than religious people; Christians are hateful of atheists. But, atheists have no problem with Christians; they simply don't like Christians' beliefs.
