i personally think ostrich grey would hit it off great, but if you are looking for a lighter tone maybe try gray beige.

if that link doesn't show you enougn examples just stop by your local paint store or hardware store and they are many selections.

have fun and good luck!

I think grey is much too boring, especially with white furniture. Unless, that is, you are a boring person, which would make it perfectly alright. If you are anything but boring (or grey is your favorite color), however, I would go with a color that makes you feel happy! Depending on what kind of room it is, I would paint it accordingly.
For example, bedrooms look lovely in all sorts of pastels (lavender, yellow, sage, sky blue, pink, etc.).
However, if it is, say, your dining room, you could pull off a dark burgundy or midnight blue, perhaps. For a kitchen I might go with a green; that always looks nice. Although red and yellow do make you hungrier; a nice deep red (not fire engine, mind) would be lovely. Now, if it's your family room, office, or den, I suppose a greyish beige color could do nicely. But if you do end up painting it in this neutral tone, make sure you spice up the pillows and accesories to add visual interest!

Basically, forget everything I've just said and go with your instincts. Or you could just award me with the Best Answer since I put so much time and effort into this response. Good luck!

I think that grey is a good idea. However, your right, so many shades of grey - which one????

Look at the room you are going to put the furniture in.
What is the rooms use?
What other colours are there in the room?

Get some colour swatches from your paint store (all shades of grey or those that you like when you look at them). Bring them home & look at the different shades there.

That way you will be able to find the right shade.

Good luck.

Oyster Grey works excellent with white, it creates a definite yet subtle contrast.

Glidden Gripper which is a grey pigmented primer is that grey. I'm not suggesting you use Gripper for this, but the paint tech at Home Depot can show you the dried paint color and mix it in a flat or other sheen. I will additionally suggest that you use what's known as an eggshell sheen with this grey as it not only is washable, but it shows and lights well.

I would agree with her^ that grey is a bit depressing. It will not make the furniture stand out at all! you need some bright colors to go with that white!

Darker color is a must with white furniture if you have a modern-style home. ie: chocolate brown, deep red, dark turquoise, deep coral

Deeper Taupes are my second choice as a neutral.

Lighter tones (sage, yellow, beige) would be good if you like a cottage or traditional look.

Gray and white with no added color will look cold and stark.
Try your favorite color in light, for walls [ ex: mint ] and bright, for pillows and rugs [ ex: emerald green ]. Make curtains/drapes wall, furniture, or floor color, or combo [ ex: mint, emerald, white stripes ].
Also consider:
pastel or powder pink with burgundy
peach with rust
banana with golden yellow
lime with moss
aqua with teal
sky blue with sapphire
lavender with plum
light to medium gray with scarlet red
also caramel with chocolate, and brass/gold accents
Add: framed paintings, posters, photos in similar color and materials [ brass or chrome, oak or walnut, enamels ] so you can move to other areas; and some flowers or potted plants.

No, grey is not a good colour to go with white, unless monotony is what u like. Go with red if you are bold or go with orange, thats what i did.

If you like gray fine; it all depends on what you like. I personally hate gray because it makes me think of prison walls (not that I was ever in prison).I think gray is depressing.
I happen to prefer bright colors or wallpaper.
I have mostly white furniture and have all different colors of walls and wall papers in my home.
