Most people who protest against its flawlessness of the Bible don't know much about the finer points and extreme protection of the original contents of it, and how it is truly a master work if you read greek or hebrew. Even if it did have flaws in it (which begs the question what a "flaw" is exactly) It doesn't change the fact that Jesus existed (check secular and other religious texts and documents, he is in there). If we believe what he said (through the apostles mind you, that if they had any decency to their own principles, would not lie or hyperbolize anything) then we can conclude that the old testiment is infallible. As for the new testament there are many books that may have been included in the bible, but very early in the church, heresies (lies or mistakes) about the character of Jesus had to be squelched so that there would be a correct picture of who we believe Jesus is, and basically the books that ended up being included are the ones that are eyewitness accounts, the closest historically to Jesus, the most well preserved, and the ones coming from a reliable source. All you need to be redeemed in the christian faith is the gospel of christ, found in matthew mark luke and john, everything thing else is extremely important but ultimately not needed for salvation, it just helps us understand Jesus and God (the same) better, and give us guidance. If you want truly good sources, check historical records on the bible, they are incredibly impressive and without a doubt the bible is THE most well preserved and reliable ancient text that we have. Check the some 5000+ original manuscripts that have a 99.5% accuracy among them (with the half of one percent being things like "Jesus" instead of "Jesus Christ"), you don't have to believe what it says inside but you can't poo poo facts. Hope this helps

I can't speak for the original Hebrew & Greek versions, but the English translation is not very accurate. I'm taking a comparative religion class this summer and one of the texts is an exact literal translation of the book of Genesis. I'm talking no theology involved; just a translation of the words with extensive footnotes. It's completely different from any version that I've ever seen before.
In answer to the question, no, I don't think the bible is flawless. It has been spoiled over time.

Well there are, apparently, some differing opionions or facts.
You do understand College people have reviewed this and COULD have changed them to hide them, but didn't. The left the little flubs intact, maybe because no one knows for sure which writer got it right.
A lot of the Bible was transcribed from oral histories passed down for generations.
I don't know my own family history that well and that only covers 200 years!
It depends on WHO in my family I talk to!

wow i have a pretty good answer for you actually..my answer is from a similar question that was proposed, so some of it might not make sense:
OMG..don't you all see that having so many different versions of the Bible indicates a corrupt religion? Many authors, editors, revisers, etc. of the Bible only changed/deleted/added verses to appeal to Christians so they would remain faithful (in other words through lies) and to appeal to people who are interested in converting (the same way). Converting through lies and putting in what people WANT to hear is corrupt. For all we know, the all-loving peaceful Bible could have had some ugly verses that were deleted or replaced with more peaceful ones so that Christianity could not look like a culprit or evil religion in the future. CORRUPTION! For all sixty-six or so versions of the bible, money is an inevitable thing to be easily made--and with so many different bibles, it is hard to know which one to go by and which different “interpretation” to follow.
An imperfect, flawed religion indicates that it is disqualified as being the true religion.
When you said, "I think people are seeing the question they want to asnwer, not asnwering what has been asked..."
Well, that’s kind of like the Christians changing the Bible into what they want their religion to be like (aka allowing more freedoms, making bad deeds seem less impactful, etc.), not seeking the truth or caring about what is really meant for them.
The Bible was once beautiful, but it was changed and adulterated, and therefore lost all its beauty to the greedy “converters” who wanted to win converts or strengthen weak followers by releasing new editions and versions of the Bible that sounded appealing or adhered to the potential convert’s or weak follower’s likes, and get as many converts by any means--even if it means lying or taking advantage of the situation and circumstances.

No.
The Bible was written for/by people of a specific cultural upbringing and mindset.
If it was flawless, there would not be any history of violence associated with it or the people who use it as their holy book.

With thousands of contradictions, inconsistencies, and absurdities, it's hardly my idea of flawless.

At least not a lot of the versions we find today, since it has recorded events from thousands of years ago, not to mention it's many translations and misconceptions.

No, NOT the versions that we see today. The bible has been changed many many times over the centuries, and i'll be damned if religious leaders changed some things to fit "their" own views and ideas, rather than the truth.

Absolutely not! You need to read up on it. The Bible is not divinely inspired. Could you write anything without interjecting your social and cultural upbringing? Neither did they.
