I concur. Lets throw out all of the politicians and replace them by lottery. Set up a computer to randomly select persons to fill all of the currently elected positions every 4 years. Couldnt do any worse, and may actually have some people who arent on the take from every money or power broker on the planet making some common sense decisions.

This has got to the most intelligent comment I've ever seen on this site! Which is, of course, why the majority of incumbents will be voted back in and Hillary is most likely the next president ( she's serving her second term as a New York senator despite the fact she has done nothing except campaign for president).

The Democrats are not worthless, but helpless. Their hands are tied. We voters put them into office, but we did not put enough of them into office. Therefore, in the Senate, they cannot get the 60 votes they need to pass any legislation, because there are only 51 of them. This is the reason we are still at war

Next time, whether you vote Democratic or Republican, put in enough of them to accomplish something. When it is a 50-50 deal, it is a stalemate.

Why do you suppose they gave themselves a raise--they are afraid of not winning again--looking out for # 1 is the norm.

that would be the best thing for us.

Too bad it would probably never happen, because no one in congress will admit they need to back off.

There are too many "career politicians" who have forgotten they are representatives of the people. Yes - this is a really good idea. And, it's also a good idea for all US citizens to review the Constitution. It's good stuff.

I am in favor of that! It would be nice if the government actually represented the voice of the people!

I'd go one further.

I'd say both the Democrat and Republican parties have shown they don't respect Americans and don't act in our best interests.

I'd say not vote for anyone from either of those parties.
