They are. Genesis1 the waters brought forth great creatures (dinosaurs) & in Job there is the Leviathon (fire breathing water dragon) and the Behemoth (has the tail of a cedar and can swallow up the river).

And people shouldn't forget the big red dragon whose tail swiped 1/3 of the Angels out of heaven. Revelation.

All you have to do is a search on the word search on 'dragon' in ones Strongs Exhaustive. That is what I did. I recall the taneem is the great beast that the waters brought forth. And that is a dinosaur, serpent, dragon, monster or whale. Genesis 1:21a & Job7:12. Job 40:15-24 is the Behemoth, Job 41 the Leviathon. Rev.12,13.16,20:2 dragon is drakon in greek; Ps 91:13; Isa27:1,51:9; Jer51:9; Jer51:34; actually dragon(s) are written in more verses and this is the dragon that is 'taneem 'in Hebrew. And the waters brought forth the taneem (great creatures).

funny that you asked this question because i just got off a web site that shows that dinosaurs are in fact mentioned in the bible a number of times. The name dinosaurs didn't come about until the 1800's. The bible describes them as large dragons with tails the size of cedar trees. In fact it showed that dinosaurs did not live millions of years ago as people believe but thousands. Humans and dinosaurs lived side by side for thousand of years. They became extinct after the flood when the food supply was scarce and possible humans may have even eaten them as well

Because the Bible starts it's record of written history after the end of the last prehistoric era and the beginning of the current modern era. The dinosaurs,(killed by the first world wide flood mentioned in the Bible on the first day of Genesis, Noah's flood is the second and last world wide flood mentioned in the Bible), were extinct between the first and second line on the first day of Genesis.

leviathans and behemoths are mentioned. The word dinosaur, scientists came up with after the bible was written. SO they are there. Animals were created- they were included in that as well. You know something though- it is interesting how animals, or dinosaurs existence and the time that they existed is more important to some people than salvation. Salvation and the love of God is the main point in scripture.

Duh, they *are*! Look at Isaiah 27:1: "leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea (that could be three different dinosaurs). Behemoth could have been a herbivorous dinosaur, in Job 40:15. In Jonah 1:17, 2:1, my study Bible comment is that while the great fish that swallowed Jonah *could* have been a whale, it was more likely a sea monster. This sea monster, too, could have been a dinosaur.

because it says that God created the animals but it didn't specifically say what those animals were. It generalized land animals, water animals, air animals. It's just as ireletive as why aren't bunny rabits in the Bible. Also, it says Noah took 2 over every kind of animal on the ark. Once again, generalizing. I heard this one theory that Noah took Dinasources Egg on the ark, because a real dinasour would wiegh too much, and while on the ark the egg broke. Thus, how bibically the dinasour became extinct. Just a theorty though.

If I am not mistaken, there are several words in the Bible referring to big animal/giant.

According to science dinosaurs existed long before our existence. There are a lot of other things are not in the bible or even Quran.

As a human being we need to learn a lot of things. That is the beauty of life.

Because dinosaurs predated the bible. Therefore, the people writing the bible didn't know that they existed. It's not like dinosaurs are the only animals excluded from the bible.

Another possibility: they're not that important to the overall message of the bible so they weren't included. This would also explain why other animals are not listed, either.

They are:

Psa 91:13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet

Psa 104:26 There go the ships: there is that leviathan, whom thou hast made to play therein.

Isa 27:1 In that day the LORD with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea.

Isa 51:9 Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the LORD; awake, as in the ancient days, in the generations of old. Art thou not it that hath cut Rahab, and wounded the dragon?

Jer 51:34 Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon hath devoured me, he hath crushed me, he hath made me an empty vessel, he hath swallowed me up like a dragon, he hath filled his belly with my delicacies, he hath cast me out.

Eze 29:3 Speak, and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great dragon that lieth in the midst of his rivers, which hath said, My river is mine own, and I have made it for myself.

I am going to ASSUME that since you didn't know dinosaurs were in the Bible, that you speak neither Hebrew nor Greek, which are the ORIGINAL languages the Bible was written in. I don't either, but there are books like Strong's Bible Dictionary that provide definitions, translations of words that are in the Bible, using the original languages.

It also intrigues me that there are several scientific facts in the Bible, which could NOT have been known to the authors over 2400 years ago (there are 19 copies of Isaiah in the Dead Sea Scrolls) EXCEPT by divine inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Consider these:

1) The Earth is Round:
Isa 40:22 It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:

2)The Earth is held up in space on nothing:
Job 26:7 He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing. (Job is one of the OLDEST books of the Bible)

3)Cycle of Evaporation of Water:
Ecc 1:7 All the rivers run into the sea; yet the sea is not full; unto the place from whence the rivers come, thither they return again.

4)God made Everything of Molecules:
Col 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

5) Scientists don't know what force holds the protons and neutrons together in the atoms of ALL THINGS. The Bible says IN HIM ALL THINGS CONSIST:
Col 1:17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

NOT BAD FOR A BUNCH OF OLD GOAT HERDERS, HUH? BTW, 'DINOSAUR' IS A RELATIVELY NEW WORD. THE WORDS USED IN THE BIBLE TO DESCRIBE THESE ANIMALS ARE MUCH OLDER WORDS. Y'know, kinda like the word "astronaut" isn't very old.

Thanks for asking the question. I myself find the Bible factual, inspired by God, and definitely intriguing.

Because Dinosaurs came before man.

There are actually in the Bible, Genesis, day 5.

Since Dinosaur is a modern term they called them large animals.

Are you aware one of the foremost Dinosaur Experts who suggested that some are warm blooded is also a Baptist Preacher.
