If you are serious, I would suggest that you seek to know thy self. The religions of this world will lead you astray more of less as they are all corrupted and have turned against their first principles. I myself, much like you was not "born into" a family that had a specific religion, so I was raised up with a mind that could wonder and find its way. So I have been something of a philosopher and a Gnostic at heart since everything that I would come to believe was what I either directly experienced or resonated in reason, of which I had a draw towards that was unexplainable and understood it entirely. A Gnostic is one that seeks and utilizes spiritual knowledge, the acquaintance through direct experience of a mystical sense. So I basically have been seeking to know thy self and refine and gain balance within, eventually I found out that my reasoning and experiences basically defined me as Gnostic, Thus is what I am.
My advice is that event though this is a Q&A place... I would not ask anyone here for what you should become, pick what suits you in this life, even though most religions in this world imo are opposite to their beginnings, they all serve a greater purpose. This is all like a schoolhouse for development, even atheism is a conditional class from which a specific objective in development of mind and being is achieved, as well as a balance to what it is paradoxical too.

Actually - would not a way of life be better? I mean a righteous way of life where you teach peace and pursue it?
If you are really seeking for SOMETHING THAT MAKES SENSE ... then you might want to look at www.yahweh.com and choose which pill you will take ... the red or the blue.
In other words - once that you come to the full knowledge of the truth ... there is simply no turning back - only death and destruction are behind you and life, peace, joy and abundant living with a promise lay ahead.
The choice is yours - and you cannot come if not called - you will instead have to endure the bombs and the STD's that mankind has created from their sins ... and endure them until 4/5ths of the earth and mankind is destroyed before they can come to realize that their plan did not bring peace at all ...
Then you will come to this way of life or die.
Just more reward when one believes without seeing ... and when these bombs (nukes) start to fall on Iran and on the coutries around it ... the job openings that can only be filled by believers that believe WITHOUT HAVING TO SEE will be filled ...
But; there is great reward for any and all who overcome.
See what sin is first - it is in I Yahchanan (I John) 3:4 ... Christians do not know this and they deny it when they are shown ... don't get sucked into the christian vacume girl -
Study TO SHOW YOURSELF APPROVED ...
Peace;

Christianity. Christians believe that jesus christ died on the cross to save us from our sins, then rose from his tomb on the 3 day. If you immediantly pick up the bible and start reading it there's a good chance you won't understand alot of it. Talk to someone you know who is christian. Also there are many good book that help explain things. I recommend The Case For Christ. It is a book that explains many things and lists sources that will explain even more. There is plenty of scientific evidence supporrting the bible and the bible is completely factual, many people just dont take the time to find out the truth. I hope you do.

I am a Muslim and I am proud to be one. I know with all the terrorists out there you may not be so prone to Islam. I am justing give Islam a fair chance and research it. Read the Quran and learn the facts. I don't want to force or push you but just look at some of these things:
Signs of the Day of Judgement as told in the Quran:
People will fly :Hello!!!Airplanes
Music will become louder:Rock and Role!!!
There will be more girls than boys: If you go to any hospital and look at the records you will see that more girls are born in a year than boys.
The world will rotate for one second backwards. During the major tsunami years previous ask any scientist and they will tell you that this is true.

This is not a forum that will be real helpful to you. Already many atheists have discredited your request. You will also get many people trying to convince you of their religion. My own recommendation is that you sit down and talk with some religious leaders. Visit with a pastor/priest and ask them questions about Christianity. Visit with a rabbi and ask them questions about Judaism. Visit with an Iman (I believe that is correct) and ask them questions about Islam. Then you can begin to ask which religion you most agree with.
If you ask another question about Christianity I will try to answer it. May God bless you in your journey.

A relationship with Jesus Christ is better than a religion. Try reading the Bible (New Testament). Talk to God and ask Him to reveal Himself to you. Ask Him to direct you to a good church and good Christian friends. I'll pray for you.
If you feel convicted about your sins and ask God to forgive you and trust Jesus to come into your life and give you eternal life, He will. John 3:16

Please ignore the athiests posting here. You might notice that they come to a "religion" website to heckle believers and those looking for answers. Ask yourself "Why would they do that?" I believe it is because they are missing something in their life or are filled with hate.
As far as your question, I pray that you attend a Christian church service in the near future and pray for Jesus in enter your life. Many scoff at this idea, especially people on Yahoo, apparently. But I promise you, if you do that, you will be amazed at the difference in your life.
I must warn you, there are many churches that do not teach the truth. The Bible is a guide to our lives, and should be taken literally, not as metaphorical stories. If you are at a church that disputes this, or that doesn't proclaim Jesus Christ as our one and ONLY savior, you are in the wrong place.
The answers you are looking for are out there. You have to seek a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and you will find them.
Please feel free to e-mail me if you would like to discuss it further.
God bless you.

As a christian I want to guide you in that direction. My suggestion is to speak to people you know. Of the people who you are around, who do you respect and trust. What person is most like the person you would like to become. Ask them if they practice a faith, and what it is about. Ask to participate in their services. Most religions are very welcoming to new comers. I hope and pray you find what you are looking for, and if you are looking for something bigger than yourself, something that makes you feel as though life has a purpose, visit a variety of Christian Churches. The belief is what is important the religion is just the vehicle to get information.

I suggest you do some research. Read the bible, the Lotus Sutra, etc. A nice site to check out is www.religioustolerance.org
That site is unbiased and provides plenty of information about several religions, including Asatru, Wicca, Scientology, Christianity, and Taoism.
Don't be afraid to take your time.
