You don't have to wait a certain amount of days to get in the shower to uncover it. Actually, it shouldn't be covered at all. The only time it should be covered is a few hours after the tattoo was originally done. You need it uncovered so it get breath, get air and especially in a shower get cleaned!

Shower whenever and don't leave a tattoo covered ever! Leave it covered for an hour or so after getting it done, but uncovered from then on.

You can shower uncovered. Just be aware that while it is still healing, you want to avoid sustained contact with a spray of water. Do not scrub or shave the area. Pat it dry when you are through and keep A&D ointment on it until it heals.

Over exposure to the shower in its early phases can pull ink from the piece

You don't need to cover it. That is the worst thing you can possibly do. The tat needs air, and it definately needs to be clean. But, you should take your shower as quick as possible. Even though it is okay to get the tat wet, you dont' want to over-do it. Another thing, avoid pools or lakes any other water that has chemicals or is didrty. Lubriderm for sensitive skin is dye, lanolin, and fragrance free and is GREAT for tats.

You can shower the same day. You want to wait until your tat is healed--usually two or three weeks--before you immerse the tattooed part in water.

you don't need to cover it at all. All they recommend is not to take a hot shower unti lthe tattoo is completly healed which is about a week or two depending on the size.

Pretty much the same as a foot tattoo, be aware of irritation, i had a 5 month old and was constantly picking him up and rubbing my wrist. It got very irritated, and scabbed quite a bit, and has splotchy color now.
