It's rude to text message while you're with your friends in general. It shows your other friends are more important than you paying attention to the person you're with.

Well it could go either way. Text messaging friends just to do it yes, as bad as having a lengthy chat with a friend in the middle of a date. Plus you were at the movies, that is possibly rude to the movie goers if not your date. On the other hand, if it is an absolutely important moment like one about work or a family member and you didn't continue to I'm sure he would understand and it would be fine.

Yes, especially if you ever want to go out with that person again. I'd be offended and annoyed. Get a life- there's more to life than text messaging. If you're messaging during a movie then you have your priorities mixed up. Besides, movies cost & you're missing out on the movie.

Yes I think so. You should be watching the movie or your date, texting shows that you're not interested.

Sure is, how would you feel if it happened to you. If you were on a date with someone that was doing that, would you feel that you had their undivided attention? If they asked you out on a date it is because they are interested in you! I would find it to be very rude.

Yes, it is. It's inconsiderate to your date and to every person in that theater. It's against the rules, too. If someone complained to an usher, you could be removed without a refund.

Yes, you should pay attention to your date. It could make them feel like you don't think they are interesting enough and would rather talk to someone else. It is pretty rude.

I think so. It seems like your date probably wants you to concentrate on them while you are spending time together. Its as though you are saying that you would rather be talking (texting) someone else
