This guy & I had a casual type relationship for over a year before he had to move back to his home town for a job. We haven't really kept in touch that often since he's left, but I still have feelings for him & I think he still does for me too. The last time I talked to him (a few months ago) he had a gf. Well..I hadn't contacted him since then & just last Friday, he called me that night to talk to me. I was out drinking w/friends, & it sounded like he was too, I told him that I missed him, & after we talked he said "what you want me to marry you?" since we were talking like we liked each other again. Then he told me that he was looking at positions here where I live, so that got me excited. I asked him about his gf & said he broke up w/her because she wasn't as "cool" as me. He asked me if I wanted to go to a cubs game w/him & his friend that Saturday (he played for the cubs) so I said yes, he gave me a wake up call so I could start driving, but I said I couldn't & he understood.

And he said that there would be plenty of more games. Anyway, my question is, does he seem serious about me again? Does he obviously miss what he had with me? Like I said, we had more of a physical relationship/good friends so I guess he misses that & the good sex to even move back here? Why did he say that about marriage?

What is obvious here is that you seem to want him more than he apparently wants you.It also appears that you guys only had more of a sexual physical relationship than an emotional one.It is so clear this guy knows how to push your buttons because he is telling you what you so desperately want to hear.If he felt you were cooler than his ex, he wouldn't have been with her; plus how do you know he has ended it with her.Look ,I am not saying anything you don't already know deep down in your guts. Therefore, I say forget this guy ,find a new boyfriend, and move on with your life. But you can reject my suggestion if you no longer have any more self confidence, self love, respect, and caring for yourself; or think you don't deserve better than what's on the table now.

I think he's trying to set it up so he can have you there and her where he is,2 timing you and her both. You play it out and see if I'm not right.
