If you're doing poorly (not making physical fitness scores, failing inspections regularly, etc.) then they will knock you back 1 to 2 weeks. It's called recycling. You get taken out of your flight at Basic and transferred into one that's a week or two behind you.
You have 12 weeks to finish Basic. Most enlistees complete it in 6. If after being recycled several times and being there 12 weeks, if you're not ready then you're discharged.
Don't sweat it. They WANT you to graduate. By the time you visit a recruiter, process through MEPS, travel to Basic, and train for a few weeks they've already spent thousands of dollars on you.

Oh, yes, it is possible. If you are "set back", as the boots call it, the TI's will send you back to the day you learned the particular item you screw up on. Example:
Let's say you learn how to fold your underwear on day seven (7). If after you get to day 40, and still can't fold your underwear, to thier satisfaction, you will be "set back" to day seven (7) and have to do it all over again. It sucks, but if you are a quick study and listen and learn, then you should have no problem. I went through my boot camp for the Air Force, at Lackland AFB, back in 1975. I waltzed right through, although, I did get yelled at quite frequently. I never did get "set back", so if I could do it, I have no doubt you can. Good luck and I think you are going into a great branch of the military. Peace!

Well so you know boot camp is suppose to extend to 8 or 9 weeks coming this october, but honestly BMT is not that bad at all, nothing to be scared of, but for fitness reasons, just ensure you start getting in shape before you go, primarily push-ups, sit-ups, and running, and you wont have to worry about getting washed back at all. I am going into my 4th year in the Air Force, if you have any questions or need more specifics e-mail me at sk8kid32485@gmail.com.

Yes it can be longer than two weeks. If you get there, and do not meet the fitness demands, they can put you in another flight, until you do. Then you go back into a flight that is in the same week that you where removed from your original one.
You can aslo get recycled as mentioned above if you do not pass the fitness test, and try again two weeks later.

yep you can get recycled a few weeks for things like that. If your instructor feels you dont fit certain requirements you can be sent back in training a few weeks. All branches of service recycle people if they arent ready to move on or meet certain standards. Doesnt mean it will happen to you though.

Every Boot Camp has provisions for if you fail a section of training. As long as you don't f*** up, and you pass everything, you will graduate on time.
