We do not become the Light, we accept the Light(Jesus Christ) to shine through us. Once we accept Him our lives should reflect Him and be an example of hope for others that are in darkness.

When the holy spirit truly lives within a person, they become light the light of Christ lives within us... and people see that we have LOVE, JOY, PEACE, PATIENCE, GENTLENESS, GOODNESS, KINDNESS, FAITHFULNESS, AND SELF CONTROL. and they also see that we have something that they lack so they will ask and that is when we should witness as to the miracles God has preformed in our hearts to make us the way we are. Do not forget however that we are also the SALT...and what does salt do in an open wounded heart but burn it? it also helps it to see the need to be cleansed and transformed. But in short only the Spirit of the living God inside of us can be that light we are called to be.

For myself, I know kindness, caring , reaching out, warmth, support and doing something, not just talking about it, is the most important thing. i had a terrible experience in my life, and i lost everything i had, i appreciated so much the kindness of strangers that i couldnt seem to get from my own family.
i really know that others in a situation where things feel out of control, that caring and support , ,..just kind words, or some small action is very much appreciated. Taking the step to reach out to others FIRST is important, it shows you want to and that you care. I never pass a homeless person anywhere without talking to them, acknowledging them, asking if they have some place to go, suggesting places that i know. Asking if i can buy them a sandwich or give them money. Tell them to keep their hopes up and things will turn around in time. I ALWAYS LOOK THEM STRAIGHT IN THE EYES, and tell them Im thinking of their hardship , and ask if they know if i can do anything to help.
I used to carry around a list of places to get services like health care for free, or meals, or even cash. I tell them to use the library internet and ask to look up services in their area..
Taking time out for anyone is so appreciated .. feeling alone when you are down is the worst feeling. To this day. I feel lightness at the kindness and outreach I felt during that time in my life. I try to everyday extend that to someone else in need.
Remember you dont have to be homeless to need someone.. be that someone to someone else. If that is all you can do feel proud. and thank you!

We become light to others by our works, actions, love. You have to remember, people in the dark are cozy and comfortable or they are afraid to move. Be the flashlight in their world and reveal the sin in the darkness they abide in.
Only God can help you there, pray to God and ask.

At the risk of sounding kind of simplistic....it sort of boils down for me to being part of one thing or another.
We are either in the process of loving.
Or, we are in the process of forgiving.
That is all.
If we are in anger, or disappointment, then we have judged, and found the other person, or ourselves coming up short.
That is not our job.
Our job is to love and/or forgive.
Not to judge!
If I ever find myself TALKing the WALK and not WALKING the TALK....then I have a little sit down chat with Susie, and find out when I fell off my "horse"....and straighten myself out.
The Baptists in one church I knew of had a phrase, when faced with a modern day problem, or dilemma, and that was
to ask ourselves" What would Jesus do?"
Now, we know He did not drive cars , nor did He ever have to face road rage in New York City or Los Angeles.
He wore sandals, and likely wore the same garments from age 15 to 33....and never had to worry about running His Visa card up on a Gray Armani Suit on Rodeo Drive.
No, but in other ways, He had to know when to "Hold "em, and when to Fold 'em" as the song goes. He had to not only understand several other languages, He also had to understand when something in a language not of His birth was being used in jest, or sarcastically or in truth!
Then, being a Representative of HIS Father in Heaven, had to make a CHOICE to SHOW WHO HE WAS,
NOT to lower Himself to the local standard.
So, that thought about WWJD, makes a lot of sense to me, and when my blood wants to overflow as in a cauldron over an injustice I witness, or one I experience,
I remember that there IS another way to be the LIGHT in the world....by Choice, and MY choice alone.

I can tell you from experiance that helping people is hard when they are in the dark but invite them to church with you and they will soon come into the light.

First learn the word of God. Get a good study bible ( Thompson chain reference ). Seek out good teachers (gracethrufaith.com) and learn kernels of wisdom.
Be a farmer and throw these kernels out for man to see. Live a Christ like life. People will notice.
Let them see the blessings you get from God so that they may want their own and believe they too can receive.
god Bless!

A christian shows by example, if you're clean living, compassionate, read your bible even if people see you do it(i read mine on public transport) don't be scare to show that you are a christian. Don't hide your light under a bushel(bush) let it shine. People will come to you and ask you how come you are happy, then let them know. But don't over load people, take it easy.

YOU will be the light and if you have something they want they will knock on your door and ask YOU how you do it. JESUS NEVER KNOCKED ON DOORS they went to him because HE HAD IT he was the light.
