Starbucks is only raising their prices because of the rising cost of fuel and dairy. They are charged a percentage of their order costs as a fuel surcharge. Dairy is costing more for everyone.....wanna know why? Because the feed that the dairy farmers use to feed the animals costs more. It costs more because more corn is being used to create e85 and there is less that can be used for feed.

The average price raise is 9 cents, so I can't imagine most people will change their daily routine for just less than a dime! A lot of people avoid Starbucks because it's already expensive as it is, so this can't be helping them to get new customers, but I don't think they have to worry. . . . Personally, I go to Starbucks about once per week, and Dunkin Donuts all the other days!

Well - i dont drink coffee. But what cracks me up is the people who do go to Starbucks and then turn around complaining about the price of gas.
Hello - ounce to ounce Starbucks coffee costs almost 3 times as much as gas does!
Do the math people - you will be shocked.

The prices were already high, now they're just higher.

There's a Starbucks near my work place, but I just discovered an independent coffee shop also near my work and I like it better anyway.

It's not worth it. I feel sorry for the friends I have working there, I think it is on the downhill slide. At my neighborhood Asian store, you can buy a bag of individual coffee packets. I got 30 packets for $1.99, and the cream and sugar is already in it. It is a high grade coffee grown in Vietnam for the G-8 Summit. So here I have 30 servings of coffee and they cost 6 cents per serving. The coffee was grown to be consumed by world leaders. It is fabulous coffee according to my Mum who is a lifelong connoisseur of coffee and would not let her lips touch an "instant" coffee. But this G-8 coffee is WOW. As Americans we can be pretty stupid with our money and our priorities. Five dollars per serving of coffee versus 6 cents? I am counting the money as we speak! I hope you have a great day!!

No way. Starbucks can kiss my whiter than white butt. You know they just made a deal with Hersheys to use their chocolate...Hersheys chocolate is horrible chocolate!! I think their product is getting cheaper while their prices are skyrocketing. Plus they have a total hold on the market. They buy all the little guys out and that is NOT COOL!!

Oh the way that they accumulate more money from us. I don't know how they do it. Maybe the companies provide an extremely addictive product, wait a bit, then when they want to make more cash, jack up the prices!

I know I'm still going back..

I can't speak for everyone, but I will still buy Starbucks. I don't drink it often enough for the price increase to even matter to me, But hey... it's tha sign of tha times, nothing stays tha same forever anyway.
