It sounds like Reactive Hypoglycemia Disorder. Millions have the disorder and are never diagnosed.

What happens when you have Reactive Hypoglycemia Disorder is that your body has become sensitive to glucose. Although people with the disorder have a normal blood glucose level most of the time, after eating the body reacts by flooding the body with too much insulin causing the blood glucose level to drop drastically and you then feel very tired and may even need to sleep while the blood glucose level rises back to normal.

Treatment for Reactive Hypoglycemia Disorder is to keep a diary of the foods you eat for several weeks and indicate which ones made you tired. Then you know which ones to avoid. The foods which effect people are different from individual to individual and may effect you differently depending on time of day. For example if I have cheese at lunch it brings on Reactive Hypoglycemia, but if I have cheese for supper in the late evening it doesn't. So I avoid dairy products in the afternoons.

Hope that helps.

Maybe you're eating too many carbohydrates (which will make you sleepy). You could try having frequent high-protein snacks, but your best bet would be to mention the problem to your doctor. Sometimes sleepiness after eating is a sign of blood sugar problems.

Have you had your blood sugar tested? That's one symptom of diabetes. Talk to your doctor.

Your blood is trying to digest the food along with your body and digesting food is very draining on the body.
