Any Lien aginst the car will prevent you from getting clear title to the car. BAD BAD BAD can happen if you buy a car that was stolen. A car that was repo was driven like... what the heck do I need to maintain this the piece of junk? I am just not going to pay for it and wreck my credit anyway! And that is worse than buying a rent car... please note not all repossesions are because of non payment. Some one who dies can have a repo too. Just hope they did not die in the car.

Stay AWAY from a repo car. The people that got the repo, couldn't make the payments, you honestly think they took care of the upkeep of the car ? Repo cars are like foreclosed houses, they are usually "fixer-uppers", and you don;t want to be the one to get aggrevated with the fixing-up !
