My doctor said Lexapro, Wellbutrin, and effexor could be possible ideas. These products websites don't say anything about the ADD part, however.

Did your doctor diagnose you with both?

Personally I'd have the depression treated first by seeing a neuro-therapist or a cognitive therapist.

Then I would deal with the ADD by getting a second opinion. You do not want to be taking drugs if there is no reason.

In the meantime, I have an article Coping with Depression on my website http://themeaningisyou.com

email me questions.

I know for a fact that psychiatrists are treating people for ADHD and Major Depression with Paxil or Prozac. I'm not sure if those medications are "approved" for that. I work in mental health and I have read the records.

I take Paxil for Major Depression and I asked my psychiatrist once if she thought I might have ADHD. She said she didn't think so, "but if you did, I'd keep using Paxil anyway."

No.

I agree that you want to treat the depression first. Psychiatrists have written about treating clients with both conditions. You may want to do a search using both words.
