There is an adage that says "to err is human, to forgive is divine".I am a firm believer in forgiveness because no body is immune to mistakes. All of us are in the position where we can say;"there but for the grace of God go I" If this guy made a mistake in his life; for which he is now sorry ;and he is trying to change his life for the better;and you like him, then I think you should give him a chance.Remember, some people in your family or among your friends may object to your decision.Remind them that there are a lot of people today and in history who made mistakes in their lives ,yet went on to contribute to human development .So go with your feelings and your gut instints about this guy and follow them. I hope things work out positively for you both.

Yes... people CAN change and do. I think I'd be less likely to deal with someone with a violent background BUT, I'd date someone with a non violent background who has done jail time.

I would not date someone with a criminal background, because if they done it once then they can do it again. Even if its non-violent, its still a crime and it could actually turn violent.
I dont know....

Not only would I date someone that has done time and reformed I married one. We have since divorced for different reasons and have also remained friends.
As long as they have learned from their mistakes and moved on there is no reason not to date them.

To me, it depends on what he did.If he tells u up-front or in the next date that he has a criminal past, he's probally a changed person.

no way. i mean some people change but a lot don't. if you have a child or anything then most definitly not - but if you ARE going to date him, maybe take it slow and be safe about it. Time will tell if he is really changed :) Best wishes!!

It depends on the crime and also when it occurred. If it was awhile ago, maybe he did learn his lesson. I believe that people can learn their lesson. But, I'd just be cautious with this fellow.
