I would appreciate because I know this is all they have to eat. and I do it out of respect because if they could do better they would.. and i do everything I can to help them.

I would and have - experiencing exotic foods helps us understand the culture and I would never dare to insult my host by offering my opinion other than sincere gratitude. I hate it when travelers act like if they don't have McDonald's he place must be prime evil - personally i like the variety and hope some of that richness stays around awhile longer.

I worked in Singapore and Jamaica and travelled to Vietnam and Thailand, and did eat different bugs, frog skin, along with small songbirds BBQ in a sweet sauce, in Mexico, I had a taco with mealworms in it and drank tequila and used a salt with ground grubs in it, like Tony Bourdan did in his TV show, actually he is why I tried them.

They are pure protein and are generally seasoned so all you get is the crunch, and I cooked rattlesnake in the US, it is nice when done right, so to answer yur question, YES, I would and have, if you refuse them in someplaces your insulting your host, no more headshrinkers, but a spear with Kirari is just as bad

Your question is as convoluted as you thinking.. Leave the poor alone,they have enough problems without you adding to them..

If that was all they had then I would do online searches first and I would bring my own food.
