What does God say when he speaks to you?

No, this isn't a joke. I'm interested in genuine responses from people who claim that God communicates with them.

there have been countless times when I have felt in my spirit the presence of the Lord and He has guided me with words that I "hear in my spirit". That's the only way to explain that connection....

however
I have heard the audible voice of the Lord on 3 specific occasions.
1) I was lamenting (in selfishness) our family's plight in that our home was far too small but we could not afford to move. I cried out to the Lord in anguish, and heard His voice say "be patient, I have a home for you". I instinctively knew that this was not a simple reference to my home in heaven as scripture says. It was a specific home within the city that He was preparing for us to live in. I had to wait another 5 years before it was ready. And that's a story in itself, and not without anguish, and I heard Him repeat the words 2 more times through the years.

2) When I was pregnant with my 2nd child, I was sitting outside while my son was playing with trucks. I was due in about 9 days.
A storm was coming up and I asked my son to clean up his toys. Just then a big thunder struck. Knowing my son was startled, I asked if he wanted to pray, thinking he would come inside right away with me. Instead he crawled into my lap and began to pray with me. We prayed for the storm to pass, for the baby to be safe, for the doctors to be confident, for daddy to be home (he was a truck driver), and for everything to go well. At the moment we said "amen", I heard a voice in my right ear say "her name is Miriam". I was so startled that I turned to see who had spoken, but no one was there. I put my son down, stood up and at that moment had my 1st labour pain. The rest of this story is also a miracle but would take too long to type out.

3) If you have gotten this far - I hope so - this one was different. We were having diffculties at work (I work in a Christian school), and it was my day off. The principal asked me to pray for a meeting of some importance regarding the difficult situation, and I promised I would. I decided to pray at 12:00 noon. During my prayer and contemplation, I saw a vision of my boss (the principle) sitting at his desk. On either side of him there stood 2 angels. They were each about 6 feet tall and had a ethereal glow about them,kind of silver. Their hands were raised above my bosses head, and between their outstretched hands there was suspended a plain golden crown. It was spinning and glowing, just hovering there. The angels weren't touching it, nor was it resting on my boss's head, just hovering there and gently spinning.
I asked the Lord, what is that? and I immediately heard a voice in my ear "it is wisdom".
The next day, I asked my boss about the results of the meeting. He shared that before the meeting, he had been sitting in his chair praying and asking the Lord for wisdom. I asked him what time that was, and he said 12:00 noon. I told him what I had seen and that the Lord had obviously granted his prayer.
The meeting went very well.

I don't expect you to believe any of this, but you asked. Every one of us, I think, has different experiences, and the Lord chooses to reveal Himself in different ways. This is the first time I have ever written all 3 accounts down.

The Lord is constantly speaking to me. And it comes from different things. If something as been on my mind and I have prayed over it, It is amazing how without mentioning it to people I will receive an answer from them.
And sometimes I am blessed with a voice that I can hear. It isn't a whisper or anything. it is has if someone is standing next to me talking. Once I was told to put money in an envelope and leave it on this persons door. I didn't know these people and we are not rich. After hearing it the second time I did it. Turns out it was a friend of a friend and it was the exact amount they were short on rent. All our bills got paid and I never missed the money. Other times I have been told simple things like to change my route or to just be extra nice to someone. No matter what it was each time it lead to way to help someone out and in return I was drawn closer to understanding the ways of the Lord. I am glad that you wanted to hear. Even if someone reading this doesn't believe the same way at least maybe they will understand how real it is to us who do.

God communicates to people today through His word, the Bible. If you want to know what God says, open the book and read it!

For people who hear voices, have dreams, or see visions, I have an important question! HOW DO YOU KNOW IT IS GOD SPEAKING TO YOU?

Some people say "God called me" to do some specific thing. How do you know it was God? What kind of caller-ID did you use?

The Bible says, "For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works." (2 Corinthians 11:13-15 )

This being the case, how do you know if the instructions you have received have come from God, instead of Satan in disguise?

To find out what is true "search the Scriptures"! (Acts 17:11, 2 Timothy 2:15, 2 Timothy 3:16) The scriptures can supply you with all you need to know!

I work at a place where I see a thousand new faces a day. Every hour or so I feel the holy spirit swell up inside of me, and I start to pray uncontrollably in tongues for someone. If I refuse to because i am simply too busy working I feel God asking me to not ignore that person and I end up running into them until I start to pray for them. I have no clue what I am asking God to do for their soul, but when it's all over I feel so loved and happy....as if I am receiving a hug from an angel.

Christ gave me an interesting vision once.

I was driving when it happened so it was very interesting.

I was standing on a beautiful green hill side next to a gate. The white picket fence went as far as you could see in both directions. People would walk up and I would open the gate and let them through. Some people I had hung out with when I was a "bad guy" came up and I refused to let them through the gate. They walked down the fence line looking for a different gate to get in.

Christ was really bumbed out at me for failing like that. As a Christian I am a gate opener, not a gate keeper.

Suddenly I was just driving again, very calm like nothing had happened and after a couple of minutes I turned to my wife and told her I just had a vision. Very freaky, to be driving one minute and then on a hill side for a few hours and then back driving.

Never missed a beat driving though. It was just really weird scary and really nice at the same time.

God removed all the embarrassing chocolate, raspberry and ice-cream stains from my clothing just like that in a flash and that's saying something isn't it.
My clothes would be in a state had I not found God I can tell you, it's the best product on the market for removing those hard to shift stains, safe for coloureds and it brightens whites too.

Soap/religion, it's all commercial marketing and big business.

usually it is things in my spirit, not an audible voice, but it always come from a place in my spirit, and mostly it is things I have ask about, and the answers come to me,
most often here lately I will staart to answer a question, and he tells me not to say that, when I read it again, I find that what I have written is rude, or insulting, and I just exit out of the question, or sometimes I will erase what I said and pray about what I should say.
of course being human I don't always listen, and I get in embarrassed when I go back and read it.
this happened to me last night, I ask a question, God told me not to ask it but I did it any way, this morning i looked at it, and knew that He was right,

I used to think a god spoke to me

turns out it was my common sense or mental brainwashing from early on in childhood put there by my mother and her controlling pastor

she heard prayers and sometimes answered them for me

I now look at "god" as nothing more than your natural common sense or what the psychos call "holy spirit", just you

I believe if there is a "sacred" then I am sacred, if there is a god than they are just as special but no more important than myself, my life and our existence and the "now" to which we must be aware of

Depends on how hard youlisten, he has Given me prayers to say for people I was very angry at, we are to pray for those who hate us, I was thinking of putting her head through a wall, I prayed and asked God to help, me, how do you pray for somebody like that, and in an instant I had the words, I could never have done it without him

I am drawn to people who I can help in some way. I get "knowledge" about a situation without any humanly possible way of knowing. They show up as thoughts in my mind - but unlike "my" thoughts, they are accompanied by a "someone is watching me" feeling.

OUR BRAIN is God, it speaks to me every day, and if people would listen to it more they would get out of the MADNESS that religion is all about.
