While our troops are busy and spread so thin if another country, lets say China wants to attack us.
Aren't we sitting ducks?

Look at what happened with Katrina.

The recent tornado outbreaks across the Midwest this past spring.

The flooding in the Plains states.

And the fire outbreaks going down currently.

And I think the answer would be: YES.

The US is very secure at the moment, even with the troop deployments to the middle east. We still maintain the majority of our troops home for defense, but we would not need them. The nice thing about America is we have oceans on 2 sides, so the only countries that can surprise us are Canada and Mexico, maybe Cuba. However, they do not seem interested in war, and if anyone else was considering an attack, we would literally have days to react because boats only sail so fast. The only possible way to attack and actually inflict major damage would be an ICBM strike (nukes), which is highly, highly unlikely, seeing as how the entire world understands the whole "you nuke us, we nuke you" issue. So overall, I would not say the US is any more vulnerable to attack than it would be with are troops at home.

No need to be paranoid...China owns quite a bit of the USA now from the amount of money Bush has borrowed for the "war" in Iraq.So to answer your question China will not attack us,And we have plenty troops here in the US

You're talking about a land invasion? People frequently throw hypotheticals like that out and I have to wonder if they've stopped to consider how something like that would work in the real world. First, what would motivate such an act? What could an enemy possibly gain that would be worth the nuclear hell that would be unleashed? Then there's logistics. We all saw how long it took for us to build up for our barely adequate invasion of the already failing state of Iraq. No one has the resources to invade us in that manner.

It's called Operation Noble Eagle. There are even troops at Penn Station and other places in NYC. Some airports still have Guardsmen and Reservists at airports. Aircraft are on constant patrol in the air spaces over the U.S. There are over 92,000 Guard and Reserve personnel on active duty. Not all of them are in Iraq or Afghanistan. Where have you been hiding?

Don't believe all the propaganda of certain politicians and most of the media.

We have a very large military presence here in the US. They are combat tested and ready.

China is not really able to reach across the Pacific, though they might consider something in their region.

For the groundtruth about the current wars, from a combat veteran that has been there, see my blog:

we have been invaded from the south. our corporations have everything to do with it and the military has nothing to do with it. welcome to the 21st century. who needs to throw bombs when you can be sold out for a few bucks.

ps. our military is joke. we can't even take over iraq -- its not a big country and its currently even smaller -- less a million people or so. we have big bombs we can't use because we would destroy ourselves in the process. other than that we are joke. can you see a soccer mom gutting invading armies? the simple truth is the land you live on isn't worth a lot no matter what your mortgage is. nobody wants us cause we suck or we would have been invaded a long time ago. canada has no need to expand and mexico has expanded peacefully. reconquista baby.

I don't think we are very vulnerable to attacks from other countries, but we are vulnerable to being unable to use military force to protect our allies.

For example, if China were to invade Taiwan, we wouldn't be able to do much about it.

The problem is that we have too many.....................troops everywhere...........

And politicians like power and more power , by FEAR , so people think they need them to protect them (like movies, with secrets attacks from evil and alliens and planets......)

The real problem is the enemys inside:
Bonus from the Fed bring us less for our money, too many regulations, War,welfare, corruption, money for m. weapons,
proteccionism, unlimited power, government bad decisions, .......and more ...........
so open your eyes and search for the real attacks...............

*/ China is a good example : Mao was the worst enemy of people of china, when he died the terror stop, and people start to live better, with free trade, private properties........................they taste freedom and the good result of hard and honest Private work.............now they are in the rigth direction with India....................
Is very sad that US government are not in that way of more freedom and progress for all..............

what gives you the impression that the USA is spread too thin.........we live near to two major bases and they are combat ready at all times as I am sure all the others are, so really don't believe all the hype that the USA is running at sub par with not enough men on the ground to adequately protect their home grounds.

regards
