So I just moved to a job out of college, don't really know anyone in the town and I am not particularly religious. So how do you meet people in a new town without just hanging out at a bar.

I should add that this is moving to a small town from a larger area, also my work is in a smaller nearby town.

As a guy, try laundromats, coffee shops, Your workplace, and anywhere else that there are people. You can also volunteer with some charity work, or part time in a hospital. Ask questions of people, as you meet them, or get their advice on a subject. It all works to start a friendship.

I find a bowling alley, billiard room, or a recreation venue is good place. also, Museums or art expo's/exhibits are also good. But the best place is the local grocer or Laundromat

Just be a confident, friendly person. Take time to talk to people. You're not gonna bond with everyone you see, but it's a good start.

Try searching for "Professional" clubs or "Networking" clubs. They advertise themselves as social events designed as networking opportunities, but in reality eveyone there is looking to hookup.
