I don't understand how it is you think it is the word of God? Its a book written by men long since dead. The book it's self is pure evil......Where does a kind loving God fit in....this is a God of Pain and suffering! You as parents would burn your children if they don't do what you want...and burn them forever? This is Okay to you? You need help if it is!

you've gotta admit though, it's a great read! I rank it right up there with Dr. Seuss.

Why after reading the bible would you think for one moment that it DIDN'T have anything to do with God. First, we are not God so how can we judge what he does or doesn't do. We are the pot, not the potter. Also, God has given all men a way out from that burning place, a free gift of salvation and eternal life in a beautiful glorious heaven for all eternity, All he has asked is that man recognize that he is a sinner and lost without God and put his faith in his Son, Jesus Christ. As the bible says, God is not willing that any should perish. As long as man thinks he is as good and smart as God and thinks he can run his own show, he will be destined to go to the hell that God has prepared. I don't blame God.

where does the love of God fit in? I guess you missed the majority of the New Testament.
I am not God and He is so there has to be payment for sin- but the love of God was and is shown through the shed blood of His Son. Jesus, the perfect Son of God, took our sin on Him so we can live forever. No greater love is there than giving a life for our friends- That is what Jesus did. He loved us so much He wants us to live forever, however we have a choice. If you go to hell, it is not because God wants you too, it is because you chose to live a life of sin over living a life saved and forgiven. If God gave us what we deserved, WE WOULD ALL BE IN HELL.

This is only about the upteenth time you have asked this question, only in different ways...we get what you are trying to say...but you are so wrong, because of lack of understanding...between the law and Grace...maybe you should read it just once. Try the New Testement....I hear it speaks of stuff like:

John 3:16 (King James Version)

16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

I sort of agree. Some stories do show love, but others, like the story of Lot where he sacrifices his daughters to an angry mob to save two angels, show murder is forgivable sometimes. IF Christians really followed the belief of Christ, then they would not believe in hell or the death penalty or suffering. But because the Bible, in some sections, tells them to hate gays or people different then them, they do because they believe it is the word of God.

I agree, the bible is horrible. I heard this quote that if christians would actually read the bible instead of what they are taught in church there would be a lot less christians. You name it and its in there. from incest to killing children and wars being done in Gods name. I think God is different than what the bible makes God out to be. I think God is Loving, God has to be because he made us and the earth we live on. It make no since that God would want wars and violence if he is love. Another thing that don't make since is why would God need to sacrifice HIMSELF to HIMSELF since christians believe Jesus is God,just to forgive people when nobody is perfect and all make mistakes. I think if you want to see how God is just look at nature because God is the one that made it anyway.

Hell isn't a place for people who do not or cannot do exactly as God has instructed. Hell is a place for people who reject God and with their own free will intentionally sin to prove their unbelief. All men and women are sinners! No one deserves heaven! But God's love sent Jesus to make a way for people to be saved from eternal death in hell and have everlasting life with God. That everlasting life starts the moment a person repents and accepts Jesus as Lord and Savior. That does not mean that they will never sin again. It simply means they have a Savior should they fall. As for burning forever in hell, while God is a loving and kind Father He is also a Holy and righteous judge. To accuse Him of being evil is to say that you would rather that He was unrighteous and fallible like human beings. But can you imagine any judge here on earth that would allow a person who committed a life time of crimes against the state to just go free simply because he's known to be a loving judge? There isn't one unless he is bribed (fallible man). But God's thoughts are unsearchable and above the thoughts and actions of man. You can't expect God, or any good and righteous judge for that matter, to allow people who openly reject and actively, sometimes hatefully and violently rebel against righteousness and/or law without remorse or repnetance! That is why I'm glad to have Jesus in my heart, my advocate in heaven, constantly interceding in prayer on my behalf. I'm not afraid of hell or angry with God for placing souls there. I just pray for people on this earth to really understand that God is loving and kind but He is also Holy and Just!

Well you missed God's plan of salvation that mentions He sent His only begotten son, Jesus Christ, to suffer the punishment, pain and agony of eternal sin for every one born on this planet earth. He fulfilled that plan already. And you have a choice to either believe what the loving God did for you already or to reject it.

God Bless you...

It's only a book of pain and suffering if you are on the wrong side of God. For those who follow God, it is a book of great teaching and blessing.

This point is missed by everyone who says what you have said. And the reason for this is simple. You have no mind for God, He has given you over to your sinful desires and thoughts--so even as He speaks plainly to those who believe, His Word confounds and annoys you.

You can remedy this if you choose. Just choose Jesus. I dare you.

every one has the advantage of reading the bible and interpret it in his own way, you might not agree with the text but intelligent people will be able to understand it, who are you to judge and rate how people must interpret a book

I see it bothers atheists to hear the truth
