Yes, an atheist can be spiritual. I am an agnostic and I am more spiritual than 90 percent of my friends. Most people I know think that just because they belong to a religion, they feel like they dont have to do anything except go to church. Most have not even read their respective holy books. I think I am much more spiritual than most. My spirituality consists of philosophy, science, psychology, humanities, the universe and its mysteries so on and so forth. To me spirituality is finding answers by deductive measures, I do not know if there is a god, perhaps a higher power, and I search for reasoning for such a argument through these methods.

Furthermore, the people who answer no to this question are simply ignorant. They have no idea what it is to be atheist/agnostic. We know what it is like to be religious, we all grew up in one. Thus we can deduce for ourselves why we believe what we do, they cannot do that. If you will notice their answers will be foolish and simply you need to believe in god of jesus to be spiritual, and that is a foolish answer, and the height of stupidity.

I suppose that you are meaning whether or not an atheist can be spiritual, as relating to God. Absolutely not. The only spirit that an atheist has any connection with, is the spirit of the devil. God's Holy Spirit has no connection with them whatsoever. If a person does not believe in God, he most certainly is not going to know a thing about God's Holy Spirit. The devil has spirits working for him also. They are demon spirits, who only try to wreck and ruin a person's life. Atheists are spiritual alright; but by the wrong spirit. The only spiritual leadership that they have, is the spirits that will lead them into the fires of Hell.

Depends on the definition in use I guess. Feeling at one with the universe and all that stuff, just minus the invisible beings and religions, sure I could call that spiritual.

It depends on what you mean by spiritual, atheists wouldn't usually consider themselves to be spiritual.

Yes they already are.
Inwardly is where God is. They don't need any intermediary or religion to tell them who they are. They believe in themelves. We are all co-creators with God. So they create and re-create life to bring them closer to Who They Are and Who They Want To Be.
We are our own rule maker. We have that free choice always. We are already One with God, never separated and all paths lead to the same place, the same home. No path is better than another. God desires what we desire. God merely observes and experiences life through us. We have already contributed to the common good by being physical.

Yes. I myself am a pagan and a Taoist as well as an atheist.

I do not believe deities actually exist, but I do believe in other spiritual concepts.

Yes. I am spiritual in the non-religious definition of the word. Emotions, perceptions of life, caring, sensuality, worldview, psychological health, and working on perceiving and internalizing one's true nature.

Spirituality. Doing the right thing because it is the right thing to do. Spirit of the law and the law-fullness of the universe. So; yes.

I'm an atheist, but I'm spiritual. I don't believe in an invisible old man in the clouds running my life, however.
