I am in the market for a car, and with a lot of the makes and models I have been looking at, people seem to have a higher opinion of older models compared to new ones. IE, older generation tacomas, 96-99 subaru legacy's, etc. Is it because the materials they are built of higher quality generally? Are the materials new cars built with these days for the most part cheaper? Is it just because people have more experience with the older vehicles? What older models do YOU believe are better built than their newer version? What cars do you believe have vastly improved over the years?

The newer cars are generally lighter than the older models this is so because less and less metal is being used and the cars are more delicate. The loss in weight increases gas mileage.

Cars for the most part have gone downhill. Higher demand means higher volume which means less time to make each car. Older cars were built so much better.

I think that if they built good cars then we wouldn't want to go out and buy new cars all the time. Which means they'll make less money.

they are easyier to work on the older the better all new cars are haveing to be put on computeers when it comes to fixing them just like the times have changed everything is now done with computors, if you have alot of money I would opt to buy a new car but if your strapped for funds buy an older car there easier and cheaper to work on

They make more money. My 2001 saturn had the transmission replaced after 70k miles. Fuel pump broke, water pump broke, electrical went to ****. Had to have the car towed 4 times to dealership before they fixed the problem. They kept saying nothing was wrong with the car. Everytime I had them look at it they charge me 100.00 to tell me that the car I had towed to the dealership was perfectly fine. They are scam artists.
