i am so worried i will not go to heaven and be with the Lord who i love above all things because there is a passage that says it is harder for a rich man/woman to enter heaven than it is for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle. does this mean im doomed?? i am not bragging, but i am very well to do. however i try to be humble and love God over any possesions or people i meet.

You will go to heaven. Jesus is in your heart and that, in my mind, is all you need.

I do not know if you will go to heaven the choice is yours on your way to haven you will have the choice of entering hell or talking the road to heaven the road to hell looks very beautiful it has a river that goes into a cave and the road to heaven is just by following the path. Remember it is very tempting to take the wrong road but it is an life changing event if you take the right one. I was one of the ones that had a little look when I died and came back 2 times in an operation. Good luck.

Don't listen to the jerks that are leaving you mean and cruel comments. It's not advice it's tearing you down.

I go to church and believe in God but there are days where I believe it's all a bunch of bull. I've been through everything in the world and researched everything all the religions. More than half the religions believe in God and Jesus. The other religions believe in The sun, The ruler of their country, Aliens, and other off the wall things. Would you rather believe in something about aliens or something that more that 50% or all religions believe in. I'm not going to try to stray you from being a Christian but you are the only one that can make the decision on how you will get to "heaven". More than 75% of all religions believe in some sort of "heaven". So, there must be one. Don't believe the books you read about what people say heaven is like or what hell is like.

2 Chronicles 30:9
"If you return to the LORD, then your brothers and your children will be shown compassion by their captors and will come back to this land, for the LORD your God is gracious and compassionate. He will not turn his face from you if you return to him."

John 14:1-4
“Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. And you know the way to where I am going.”

2 Corinthians 9:7
Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

1 Corinthians 15:58:
So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.

What you have read in Matthew 19:

The Rich Young Man
Now a man came up to Jesus and asked, "Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?"

"Why do you ask me about what is good?" Jesus replied. "There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, obey the commandments."

"Which ones?" the man inquired.

Jesus replied, " 'Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not give false testimony, honor your father and mother,' and 'love your neighbor as yourself.'

"All these I have kept," the young man said. "What do I still lack?"

Jesus answered, "If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."

When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth.

Then Jesus said to his disciples, "I tell you the truth, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again, I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."

When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, "Who then can be saved?"

Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."

Peter answered him, "We have left everything to follow you! What then will there be for us?"

Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life. But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first.

It's meaning .... The young man loved his money way too much and didn't give it up when Jesus told him to. Jesus told him to give it to the poor and he didn't. And that's why he said that. Possessions meant too much. All who believe will enter heaven. You have to read the whole passage and understand what it is talking about before you think OMG!!!!!!

Give your clothes and things you do not use to friends or people that you know that don't have as much as you. Don't make it into a charity thing just kind of a here I thought you might want this. All they can say is no or cry later. Give your money to charities that will use the money for a good cause. AIDS/HIV, Cancer, or some other disease. Buy presents for people that are less wealthy and make them feel like you care and you aren't selfish. Be a good person.

hope i helped----sarah

If you are truly living for God, and you do not let greed and pride take over you, you will go to heaven. what the bible means by saying that is just that it's harder for them because most of the time, the more well-off you are, the less you care about anyone but yourself. not everyone, but a lot of 'rich' people are that way.

The Bible says that " The LOVE of money is the root of all evil. " So long as money is not before God in your life, and He is # 1, then you will naturally want to use some of what God has allowed you to have to serve
Him, and further His Kingdom, then you should be OK. JESUS #1, at all times ! I always said, show me a man's cheque book entries, and I will tell you where his heart really is. I think Billy Graham said that.

I suppose it comes down to which do you serve.

In Mark 10:23 Jesus again said: "Then Jesus looked around and said to His disciples, “How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God!” It was not impossible, as all things are possible with God but it would be “hard”. In Luke 16:13 Jesus spoke about “mammon” (the Aramaic word for riches): “No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.”

1 Timothy 6:17 gives a warning to the rich: Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy.”

God does not condemn anyone for having riches, they come to people from many sources, but He gives grave warnings to those that seek after them more than God and trust in them more than in God.

You truly love God above all else? And you truly try to be humble and follow his laws?

Then yes, I believe you will go to Heaven...

You know what would make you feel better, and help God's people too?

If you donated some of your money to churches, hospitals, and to the poor.

our answer lies in what you said in your first sentence. you love the lord above all things. His Grace is your gift because of that. Remember nothing you will ever do will be perfect. All you need for heaven is your love for CHrist that will never fail. DO all you do with that on the forfront and you life will be full of Joy. It is not you who gets you into heaven it is CHrist. leave it up to him. The parable represents more how difficult it would be for you to do it on your own. But your not on your own Jesus is with you and he hold the key :)

God bless

The rich man loved his wealth more than Jesus. It was His worship.
Anything that exalts itself to the level or above God becomes an idol.

I wouldn't worry about it too much Carla.

It seems like rich people are responsible for most of the spreading of Christianity through the ages, that has to count for something.

There are lots of verses in the bible that can scare the bejesus out of you, if you really love your God, then don't get too interested in reading the whole bible because you will get confused. Just carry on and don't hurt anyone, or condemn people to hell because they are different to you.

It didnt say a rich man cant ever be saved or get to spend eternity with God and Jesus, it just says it is hard. If you are saved then you have no worries.
