here in england, we've suffered the coldest summer since records began. i think we need to start to produce more carbon, and chop down some more trees, to warm up our summer a little bit.

what? heaven forbid you go against the global warming types. you should plant more trees, and produce less carbon, that way you can truly experience a mini ice age, like the one in the 1300's.

Yeah you may have a point there the Earth is really going crazy this year some places are showing record heat while others are freezing there butts off such as your self. So if nothing else you should chop down the trees and set them on fire so you can if nothing else warm your self up :), but again sorry to hear about your crappy summer, makes times like these when you wonder if there really is Global Warming going on. I'm still wondering myself.....................

the first word is...GLOBAL. That means, the whole planet is warming. Some spots might get colder (and Europe will freeze once the warming melts the greenland icecap and the freshwater shuts down the Gulf Stream which has been warming Europe).

THi question sheds some perspective on GW. Some people will benefit and some will suffer lots of inconvenience. Its not something to have a global panic about.

you people are the first to cry when there is a heat wave
And what are yopu gonna do when the price of beer goes up because of water shortage ,or there is no food in the market ,
England gets a lot of stuff from other countries ,which are more vulnerable to temperature changes in agriculture.

Use the term 'climate change'. Chopping down trees will only add to it.

Back in the nineteenth century people were ice skating on the Thames River in winter. What was that summer like?
