If, oh, a certain unnamed Christian were to tell baldfaced lies about other people's religions again and again, wouldn't that be proof of a complete lack of repentance?
Isn't the god of Abraham like Santa, he knows when you've been bad or good, so be good for goodness sake?
Just curious. It seems to be some like to tell lies about other people's religions, then claim to be experts on their own...but isn't the fruit of a liar just lies?

Don't go fuzzy, here. Lies are lies. If someone says someone's religion worships Satan, and they don't, that's a bloody lie. The definition of worship in the dictionary (and the Bibles) doesn't include an unwitting version. Worship is something that requires intention....
If someone says Buddhist religion involves eating babies(for example), it's just a bloody lie.
Playing semantic games to make a lie not a lie is dishonest, if not a lie unto itself.

"If you have to lie to support your stance, maybe you should consider another stance."

You ask a good question. However it doesn't have a simple yes or no answer. I am christian and my faith is God forgives all. If a brother is lying and another brother sees it is wrong , the concerned brother ; according to the bible, is suppose to go to the first brother and try to reason with him, using the word to back him up. If the brother whom is committing the sin doesn't receive the concerned brothers words; then the concerned brother is suppose to go to the elders of the church. They are suppose to meet to correct the problem. If it is still not received by the first brother as a sin , but the elders so deem it as a sin, then yes that first brother will be excommunicated from that religion. However God forgives all. The only sin that might not be forgivable to God, could be suffering of the Holy Spirit. If one denies or makes fun of the Holy Spirit, God can not work with that prideful heart, that is why it is unforgivable. Because that person will not be able to be convicted of sin by the Holy Spirit. Every disciple that followed Jesus in his day had some kind of criminal act in his life. But Jesus instantly forgave them and asked them to follow him. The pride heart is the only act of sin that God can not work with. And He is still there waiting to be in communion with anyone and everyone he created. That is why Jesus was scarified for us.

A revivalist speaker who came to my Christian school this spring told us a story:
There was a man who loved Bic pens (okay, use your imagination a bit). He would steal pens whenever he had the chance. He got a ton of them, and had a mini-mountain of Bic pens. One day, he found God and realized that stealing was wrong. He prayed to God and said "I know I have sinned, I've been stealing so many pens."
So for a while he did wonderfully, he was theft-free. One day, he was invited to a wedding, and on the guest book, there was the most beautiful Bic pen, with gold swirls and everything.... So he took it.
A few days later, he was in a terrible state of unhappiness, because he knew he had reverted to his old ways and was unhappy about stealing the pen.
He prayed to God for forgiveness again, "I know that I am a sinner, I stole another pen, God... How can you forgive me? I said I wouldn't steal pens, and then I did it again!"
God said to him, "You used to steal pens?"
God forgets our sins after we repent them to him. True, you have to truly mean it and turn away from the sin, but if we backslide, and struggle, but truly want to change and try, he will forgive us as many times as we need.
Also, did you ever think that maybe the people who lie about other religions are just mis-informed themselves?

Fact all liars will have their part in Hell. However just because someone may disagree with what is said, doesn't always make what is said, a lie. The Bible is truth i.e... God is truth outside of that everyman is a lie.

I would also lie again and again if my god was Santa. Unfortunately, God hates competition. Just real the Old Testament.
So, other religions aren't chalk full of lies? The opposite of a lie is the truth, and where does the truth come from? God. And, hopefully not to bust your bubble, He doesn't lie. Therefore, all other religions are lies. QED

If they are lying, God will judge just as he will judge if they are telling the truth about another's religion and the person of that religion calls them a liar and is lying just like a certain non-Christian.

REWRITE: This is to simplify and get straight to my point. I'm not sure that many high profile leaders who invent or spread lies like this really believe their own religion anyway, so much as use it rhetorically for fame, fortune, and power.
Even if you don't know, saying you know when you know you don't know, is a lie in itself.

Ah, but when you are unaware of the fact that you are passing along lies, because the same lie was passed onto you by your pastors, who is to blame then? CUz thats where they get the majority of their lies from...the church itself.
