I know it's an odd question, but when you haven't had anything to drink for ages, and then you have a coke, which is black....Why is your pea always the same colour no matter what the colour is you've drank?

Where does the colour go?!

Everything that your body eats and drinks is processed and filtered before being excreted. You don't pee out the coke you drank, you pee out nitrogenous waste, water, and urea. The rest of the coke is either absorbed for your body's use or excreted otherwise.

Technically, your pee is not always the same color. When you drink something it is filtered through your kidneys. If you are dehydrated from not drinking at all or drinking a lot of caffeine based liquids your pee is dark. When you are well hydrated, your pee is a very pale yellow or even clear.

the color stayed in your gut. But your pee isn't always the same color....it varies throughout the day, you can test this yourself, collect some in a small clear glass in the morning, in the afternoon and at bed time, three small glass containers, then compare them, you will see the color change then.

Well, if you drink lots of water it tends to be a lighter shade of yellow rather than not drinking anything at all and having it be dark yellow.

Its not always the same color. It should be yellow but as a nurse I've seen it some really disgusting colors.

According to what I learned on Oprah, it should be very light, light enough for you to be able to read through it. This is a healthy sign.
