What I'm looking for is something that is motivation related. I know that this position is all it is ever going to be. No matter what I do, it will be turned around and blamed back on me. I saw this in my review. I was dinged for not helping in the A/R area, but I do not have access to the program. I also had comments on finding fault with others, it was their work; I did not do it, I was told to review and note the corrections.

In any event, I have started sending out at least three emails a day to try to get out of this nightmare; but nothing is happening.

I need to work to pay bills, there is no way around that.

This is just a very disheartening position, and I see no reason to put forth a 100% work ethic here if I will never get anything out of it.

If I understand this correctly, you hate your job and are ticked because of your review. You were written up for things that you were not capable of doing since you did not have access or were following the instructions that you were given.

If you are positive that the position is all it will ever be and you are not happy- THEN LOOK ELSEWHERE. That is why you are sending the resumes out in the first place.

I would keep your attitude on the mild position so you can deal and get out of there.

Keep your spirits up and get ready to move on.

Good Luck.

You should continue to do your job to the best of your ability. Your attitude is hurting you at work and is probably the reason why you got a less than stellar performance evaluation. Even if you get another job, you don't want to transfer your current attitude to a new job, so work on improving it now.

Meanwhile do some hard thinking about the kind of work you really, really want to do. Look for something that ignites some passion in you. Don't necessarily stick with the field in which you have experience or education. Life is far too short to work at something you're not happy doing.

When you decide what you want to do, put together a professional looking resume, so you can sell yourself. If you're contacting potential employers by email, ensure the resume is attached.

Good luck.

You are in a tough position so you need to tough it out -- you need the money. So work at addressing the " problems " pointed out about your job performance WHILE THINKING " The art of diplomacy is telling them to go to hell and having them look forward to the trip".

Relative to your emails -- not sure who you are contacting but if you are saying/implying " my boss is a jerk and harassing me for no reason " you need to consider that you are sending your emails to future potential bosses.

Consider focusing on your career aspirations and how your current job is not in line with your thinking.

Good luck

start working with a networking business so that you have many more options with no ceiling on your income.
My hubby made tons of money in sales and the company rewarded him by cutting his pay the following year- they don't want sales people making more than the CEO, they also raised his quota and deflated his enthusiasm. He is building a network business at night and weekends with real estate, mortgages and financial products. 5000 dollars in overrides for a couple months of work -part time- is not bad.

I can only tell you what I would do. I would take whatever job I could "yesterday" to get out of there. But I would keep in mind that choosing a job that quickly is probably going to lead to another mediocre job, but at least it new and only temporary. Meantime, I would continue to look for a better job.

Well... how about you get a temp job... like waiting tables or something similar. I mean... get a job at Radio Shack for God's sake (PT) and look for another one while you're still working. It's going to pay your bills and help you unstress, while you still have time to look for a better job.
