Overall= Prozac and Effexor. Zoloft has been mentioned as good for anxiety-related problems. I would steer clear of Paxil. Lexapro has been mentioned as an effective anti-depressant especially among women. The best meds for anxiety are benzodiazepines ( Xanax, Klonopin, Ativan, Valium and more.) I am not a doctor. All of my conclusions come from working as a mental health therapist.

Your psychiatrist will know the best answer. It's different for everyone. Sure there are the ones that are advertised the most and therefore more people hear about them - but that doesn't mean they are best or that they will work for you. You may have to try a few different things before you find something that will work. Good luck.

The medicines differ from person to person. I was good on Prozac for a couple of years and later went to Wellbutrin XL which was much better for me. I feel some of the best treatment was with a therapist. See your psychiatrist and work it out with him as to which is best. I wish you the best of luck, because Ive been there and the doctor can help you very much.

Your psychiatrist will know. That's what they do. Sometimes it's simple and just takes one medication, others it takes a combination of two or more. There's an art, as well as a science, to medication management of mental health issues. That means that you have to work with your doctor until the two of you find the medication or medications that are right for you and you get the result that you're seeking.

There is no one best one. It varies for each person because of the different possible causes and symptoms. Also, which side effects you are willing to tolerate matter as well.

For social anxiety, you will probably be put on Paxil.

i would stay away from all antidepressants. they are awful to go on and are awful to get of off. the side effects are horriable and you mey go through alot just to find the right one. just work with a therepist that can help u get over your fears. really its the only thing that works. getting to the real cause and taking it out of your life. meds will only mask your fear and u will truely never get better. u could do a xanax or chlonpin as needed to help u get out there to help yourself get confident. research antidepressant ecpecially the one he trys to put u on first bf u take it. there are things they wont tell u like the hell it is to get off them. for example go to quitpaxil.com and ull see the hell im going through to get off paxil. if i knew what i do now i never would of went on meds 8 years ago. i would of dealt with my anxiety head on and kicked its ***!

your Md can make the best assessment. Sometimes it's trial and error and you may have to try a few to see what's best for your physiology. I find diet, rest, and exercise along with desensitization exercises help. Be confident that who you are is okay.

I don't know which one is the best; but I've used Secret for years. It works fine for me. Sometimes I use a body moose(not sure how to spell it) on my arms and legs for extra protection.
