Up until recently, my daughter has been content with dressing modestly and in colors that are not overly flamboyant. She is a delight, high grades in school, very responsible, and just recently she told my wife that she is still a virgin. I am very proud of her.

Recently, she has wanted to branch out and try clothing that is more provocative than her usual garb. Here is an example of the clothes that she would like to wear:

At what age should I give my approval of these clothes? Her 24th birthday is fast approaching, so I'm considering giving my blessing.

Also, it should be noted that her mother and I are not particularly religious, however we do share a great love for the 1970's American television show, Little House on the Prairie and our vision for our little girl is to dress like little Laura.

Do you think that she is mature enough to wear these "fancy" clothes?

Of course I am serious. I'm sorry that in your pompous little mind you find my life's quandries so trivial.

I would like a serious answer, young man, and you are the only one who needs to attain a life.

Silly, silly, silly, silly.
I suggest she wear what she wants as she leaves home!

BTW: Not sure I believe you have a daughter.

I think at 24 she should be able to wear what she wants... Like you said Little House on the Prairie was in the 70's so she needs a little update on the clothes she wears.. I too love Little House on the Prairie but I wouldn't want to wear those clothes.. A little too old fashioned but it is nice that you care enough about her to ask.. Some parents don't care what their kids wear so it is nice that you are that way but its time you let your daughter use her own judgment on what she wears and does...

If she's almost 24, you have virtually no say on what your daughter can wear. She's a woman now.

If she wants to wear something as, umm... provocative... as this, she might be trying to go somewhere with it. If I see a non-religious (non-amish, particularly) 21st century girl wearing this sort of clothing on a day-to-day basis, I'd be thinking that she must be making some sort of socio-political statement. maybe she's trying to show the world that women CAN be a vital part to society without having to resort to shaking their respective money-makers.

Well, if this is a serious question- your daughter is obviously very content with who she is and at her age I think she is capable of making an informed decision about wearing what she wants. My question is- I didn't think Amish people had the internet?? LOL

I think she should wear those dresses but maybe cut a slit on the side of the dress, that would be hot...maybe she should rock that sweet bonnet too, but get a skull pattern or something.

At 24 I think it is her choice at what she should ware from the look of your pictures I dont see the problem. She could be waring clothing that shows of her breasts and legs. Thoes cloths do not.
What is wrong with a little color?

The only people that would see your daughter as "provocative" in those clothes were probably perverts to begin with. (I don't mean you, just the general male population)

I'm a bit surprised that at her age, you haven't found her a good husband yet who can make the right decision for her.
