Do you think we create our own heaven or hell, like in the movie "What Dreams May Come"? Or do you think we all go to the same place. Please explain.

I saw "What Dreams May come" several times. It is the closest Hollywood has ever come to my personnal concept of heaven & Hell. I do believe Heaven, Hell, etc is all a state of mind. I believe Hell is internal torture. It can be escaped, but it is difficult to do so. Heaven is Enlightenment, Ascension, Nirvana, call it what you want. Both places are states that come from within each of us, that can be reached while we are still here in this world. Read the teachings of Jesus closely. Read what has been said about Buddha if you like. Open your heart and your eyes, and you'll know.

I saw that movie. I agree to an extent. I think we all have our own unique definition of what heaven and hell would be.

Some feel that heaven is a pleasant resting place where everyone wears wings and a halo.....

Some feel that heaven is more of a state of mind- being content with what you have/are.....

Some feel that heaven, like happiness in this life is a journey, a process....

I think a "heaven-is-a-process" person wouldn't be happy with just a pair of wings, a halo and a harp.... At the same time, I'm pretty sure a halo/harp person would be kinda scared by the prospect of everything that would be involved in a process.

The Bible hints at it, but I won't know until I get there.

A Clergyman I once knew said what ever it is, it's going to be better than sex. I think even that description falls short.

An other Pastor and close friend figured that the song "In Heaven there is no Beer (that's why we drink it here)" is wrong. He said that it's the land of milk and honey, and since neither he nor I are particularly fond of either.... Well you get the drift.

All kidding aside, Heaven will be so good that no one should strive for anything else.

Mark

Heaven is heaven. I have no idea until I actually get there. Until I do all I can do is imagine what it will be like. I also believe that everyone will go to the same place.

Heaven or hell is what God created. I'm a man of faith, so if your talking about Heaven in terms of religion, than yes, God created it. Heaven is where God resides and is seperate from the real world. It is a paradise where those who believe in His Son Jesus Christ, will spend eternity with God, once they perish from this present life. The bible says that in heaven, "there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain" (Revelation 21:4).

In this dimension yes we create our own heaven and hell. When we return to our original state (in Carl Sagan's views and mine --- " we are all made of star stuff) I believe heaven is a place where your essence (soul) is integrated with and at peace with the universe.

Heaven is not a place as such, but in the hearts of all of us, we create the heaven we want, because we are part of the Goddess that created us, we as humans only see the reality that we are taught to see, but we do have the ability to change that reality, we are life because we wanted life, we wanted to experience this life so we created it, it really is hard for people to realize that we are a combination of female & male in other words Godesses, you truly can change any reality you want to, it's societies teachings that gets in peoples way, and that is how I see my life here.

I believe (as a christian) that heaven is being in the presence of God and hell is the lack thereof. Therefore, the heaven and hell that is usually taught, I feel, is mostly false and made up.

I might have seen the movie you mentioned once. The movie name sounds familar to me. As I think of heaven or hell, we are not sure what they both are like. Heaven is said to be very peacefull, and heell is said to be very dark and dreery. I learned this in my 12th grade english class.

Heaven is a place. It is even described in Revelations, chaper 21-I think. It will be spiritual bliss, eternal happiness and life. Hell is eternal separation from God, I believe and is a place also.
