I'd have to contradict with Soberphobe, there IS muscle down there, and if she doesn't believe me, she should look in an antomy book.
There are 3 types of bodies, depending on where the fat is concentrated. There's type A, wich has the most amount of fat in the lower side of the body (lower abs, butt, legs), type B, wich has the most amount of fat in the upper side (tummy, waist, chest and eventually arms). And last, type C, where the fat is equally spread.
Type A and C can get rid of their lower tummy fat, by a lot of exercise (try Pilates, it does wonders). Also, it is majorly important that you do keep a diet so you'l lose more fat, if you're not already vey thin. The persons that are type B, will never lose the fat in that area, no matter how thin they are. I know because I had a friend so was much more skinnier than me, she was incredibly skinny and she had that tummy fat (even more than me, altho I was heavier, but I am type A). She is type B. And I saw a lot of B types, who had this problem.
So see where you stand. But the idea is not to get discouraged. No matter the type, if you have will, then your body shape will improve much.

Doing countless hours of abs only focuses on the muscle tissue under the layer of fat you are trying to eliminate. This area is the most difficult for men and women alike. Have you tried sprints yet? Somewhere in the range of 100m to 200m. Start easy, as they can be much more difficult than one would think if you are actually sprinting like you should be. Add an extra sprint every time you go out again. Sprints, unlike steady state and low intensity cardio, keep your metabolism in high gear ALL DAY and thus burn significantly more calories. They are also great for increasing strength and overall athletic performance. Don't do TOO many abs. Any more than 20 reps is too many. If you can do that many reps without feeling fatigued you need to add resistance to the ab workouts. Say goodbye to the stubborn belly fat and hello to the ab city.

I got very very unfit when I was seriously ill. In order to get rid of that nasty bit I was advised by the physio to do 'reverse crunches' under pressure. To do this you lay on the floor and hold your legs so that the knees are bent and there are 2 right angles, one at the hips and the other at the knees. Have something squashy, a soft football worked well for me, and hold it between your knees and squeeze very hard. Then pull your knees towards your chest slowly all the time maintaining the pressure between your knees and then slowly take them back to the starting position. Build up to doing sets of 20. It is surprisingly difficult but it worked for me, I'm 60 and I had just had both hips replaced!

Many of the ladies who started asking the same questions in frustration are now happily enjoying a flatter tummy. My friend lost 9 pounds on Day 4, and 4 inches off her waist, and she's not the only one! My friends have lost flabs on their thighs, stomach, under arms, under chin and other areas in a max of 4 weeks. I have seen so many big people who are so many kilograms lighter now, and some have even had to seriously change their wardrobes after they slimmed down!
It's a Coffee and Fruit Cleanse supplement and well, it works well to get rid of inches, and also gain us health. I strongly recommend this to you because you need to gain health to go for the surgery and the ingredients really give you better health, as well as more energy.
Ingredients in the Coffee:
1. Red Yeast Rice
2. Grape seed
3. L-Carnitine
4. Lingzhi
5. Soluble Fibre
6. Green Tea
7. Red Beetroot
8. Nattokinase
9. Fructose (diabetic friendly)
I can't guarantee results in a few days, but I know you'll definitely see results in 2 weeks. All the best for your weight loss journey!

I wish I knew. I saw a Plastic Surgery show (Discovery Health channel) and the surgeon said the only way to get rid of the post-baby tummy is a tummy tuck. I guess I'm keeping my tummy.

Hey don't be sexist, guys have the exact same problem. I have a small amount of fat down there. You can not spot reduce. So really just lower your body fat over all and eventually your body will naturally remove it. I know it sucks, but there is nothing else you can do.

Mustard is a secret bulge-buster. The idea boosts your metabolism and boosts natural ephadrine, the hormone that will burns fat. According to Jeya Henry, professor of human nutrition on Oxford Brookes University, just a tablespoon as part of your food can reduce a flabby waist by 20 per cent!

t could be your diet that's the problem. Eat plenty of fruit, especially first thing in the morning. At that time it rids the body of toxins. Eat nothing else for at least half an hour. Also drink plenty of water. I find this works and I'm 65.

I hate to break it to you kids, that little layer of fat over the lower belly is SUPPOSED to be there. It is a survival mechanism left over from the days when we were just hunter/gatherers over the face of the planet. You would have to become very unhealthily thin to rid yourself of that fat pad, or, you can have liposuction to the area, which is what I eventually did.

Abs are stubborn. Keep at it. Try exercises that are designed primarily to tone your buttocks also like leg lifts - they're also great for the abs and thighs.
Stick at it girly! Good luck, you'll get there.
