This afternoon I was going to pick my wife up, on the way I passed our local Brook advisory. Outside there were four girls aged between 12 and 15 swapping condoms for single cigarettes. For the life of me I can't understand why people are wasting their time advising youngsters about safe sex if all they're going to do is swap the condoms they are given with the advice for a ***!

Hey "david is here wooooooo's" thanks for reminding me of what I had wrote, I'm glad you can read. My problem is that in my mind the girls have wasted the time of Brooke, and are using it as an excuse for a form of monetary gain. I agree that the figures for teenage pregnancies and STIs are far too high and something needs to be done.

I can't believe it. Where are the parents? Young girls that age are trading condoms for cigarettes. (Somebody they know probably wants them) I mean what is that place, a bartering post? I know that not all adolescents are like that, but the ones who are find a way out of every situation. If parents tell them not to have sex then chances are they're going to search for more trouble.

The obvious point is that you didn't see all of the girls doing this. And the second obvious point is that someone wants the condoms or they wouldn't be trading cigarettes for them. Girls who aren't having sex have no need for condoms. Still, they shouldn't have any need for cigarettes either!

How do you know the girls needed the condoms they were swapping? They may have had an excess supply, or they may not need the condoms if for instance they were lesbians or not even sexually active yet.
Is it any of your business anyway?

that's sad...it really is. they just wanna be cool. they think it's cool to smoke and have sex. your right, it is pointless. if you ask me, about 75% of all things that people do in this world is pointless.... i have a twelve year old sister, and if i ever see her anywhere near one of those, it's hammer time for the person that made her go there...
