My boyfriend and I were dating for a little over a year. Last December he got his first charge of domestic assualt for attacking me. Since it wasn't that severe (punching me, biting my nose open, kicking me, etc…) it's a misdemeanor. He goes to court for it tomorrow. His 2nd case was 4 weeks ago for punching me and choking me. The final straw occurred last weekend where he was punching me in the forehead and almost bit my finger off. He didn't get arrested this last time since the cops couldn't find him hiding out in my attic (SCARY!!!). This time it is a felony offense of domestic assault based on the severity. He is wanted in the city that I live in. For the first two offenses, the cases were picked up by the county. For the most recent incident, the State is picking up the charges. What do you think the likelihood is that he will be incarcerated? He has an extensive criminal background, although he isn't on probation or parole currently.

The last straw should have been the first time he hit you.

You need to get a restraining order against this guy... and get as far away from him as you can.

If he got any time, it wont be much... if your lucky, he will get credit for time served, probation and anger management.

You need to stand up and take control of your life. Run, run away and don't look back.

He will kill you one day if you stay.

There's something I don't understand. Why there was a 2nd incident? and a third?
Is he going after you or did you stay with him after the first incident?
If the right answer is the second, forget about him and start worrying about you.
If you get to the point where you have to press charges against your boyfriend, there's no way back. Nothing is going to mend your relationship. It's time to move on and think about your own safety.

This is a very touchy subject. He should be incarcerated, if not, go up to the police station and demand that they protect and serve. I've seen this happen a lot with friends and the cop's aren't doing their job. If you want to go to a safe place, there are many shelters for people who are in abuslive relationships. they will care for you and protect you. Take care.

I don't know what the chances are for him to go to jail, but I can tell you you have a very high chance of getting killed by him. Get out, get away from him. Abusers NEVER change. And the odds are about 1 in 2 that you will be killed. Save yourself - RUN and don't look back.

a warrant out for a felony arrest will help the chances of actual incarseration, but you also need to show up to court if he's taken into custody. If you don't show up, they'll prolly throw the whole thing out. After that, you'd better cut all ties w/ that jerk.

It keeps getting worse until........no more ekj6585. I have seen it time and time again. You need to have him put away. Then get as far away from him (and his family and friends) as you can possibly get. This guy is a serious mental case. Oh, and buy a gun. This will be the only thing that stops him.

Jail time is coming in his future...
But....the best way for him not to assault you is for you to not be near him.....I know it sounds a bit simple...but the best way to avoid a punch is to not be there........Please get away from this guy...patterns of violence...get more violent as time goes on. He will end up doing serious injury to you if you don't.

Given his lack of response to previous arrests and his lack or regard to change his ways, I would assume some jail time will be in his future.

testify against him-he will get time. in the meantime find yourself a rather large (but gentle) male freind-as most scumbags who beat up on women are cowards at heart this ought to put him off.

He'll go to jail but probably not for long. A few months?

Why do you stay with someone who abuses you? You deserve better than that.
