i've looked on ebay, but sometimes the bidding can get rediculously high. my son is going into the first grade and his christmas gift to his classmates this year is going to be a book. reading has become so low on our priorities. in my town they are taking the open days for the library down from 6 to 5. i am trying to help get reading back into the home and not just in school. books like "the magic tree house" series, "junie b jones - first grader", "hank the cowdog", "horrible harry", etc. i'm hoping to find a big bunch in one lot.

Amazon.com sells used books for sometimes $.50 a copy. I always buy books at goodwill. You just have to look for ones that aren't really cruddy. they're usually $.50 too.

The library is a good source for used books.Thrift stores are also a good source and most books are 50 cents to a dollar. If you are looking for new books you could try Scholastic book..In Ontario,Canada the schools distribute their sales sheets a few times a year. There is always something for every ones pocketbook.Do you have a Chapters bookstore in your area. They always have a wide selection and many books are on for discounted prices. When my grandson was in JK. I donated money to his class library instead of buying a gift for the teacher.I let the teacher pick out the books because she woluld know what most kids would enjoy.Perhaps you could make a small donation to your school library. Many schools are underfunded and I'm sure your school would appreciate the sentiment.

Try Amazon.com. You can sometimes get some "used" books that are in good condition. I've never had a problem with the used books. I once purchased a college school book that was regularly priced at $78 for $10.00 and it was in just as good shape as new.
