i live in Pakistan and i see a bright future for my country.

Pakistan surely is going through a very tough time, on the political, economic and the socio-religious front, but i think that we'll make it through. we'll make it through like all great world powers have. Id call the situation in Pakistan a sort of mid life crisis that every country has. the US had the the civil war of the 1700s, on the other hand the russian and the chinese revolutions in the 1800s and 1900s.India until twenty years ago suffered from great religious strife these are all often violent and trumatic stages civilizations have gone through. the process may vary but it is vital to reform society and and helps nations gear up for the next stage of development.

what i mean to say is that all hope is not lost ,all that needs to be done is honestly continue trying and not give up.

if i were president of the country i would focus on 5 points :
1)Education (because an educated workforce can fuel and maintain growth)
2)Justice ( Streamline the existing system and redivert focus the parliment (congress) towards legislation (making laws) )
3)Media/ press (keep ensuring the freedom of press, it acts as a conscience for the state)
4)Health (Every one has a right to it- healthy body= healthy mind )
5)Regional Peace (only if the region is peaceful can Pakistan better cashin its Geo-Strategic location)

to conclude, id educate my common man so that he has a voice and presence of mind to ask for his rights.

If I were the president of pakystan.First, think about the relationship with the U.S and reviewed.Create equal relationships.I used to make their own decisions.Tries to negotiate with the Taliban and see that to whom they are working, then decied for the last option.

I came back to the states a couple of months ago from Pak. I have a home in Pindi, so I spend alot of time there.

All I can say is that while they are experiencing alot of turmoil at the moment, it is NO where near what the American media plays it out to be. Yes, there have been some bombings here and there lately, but mostly in the NWF, mostly due to radicals trying to force Taliban law over parts of the country.

Musharraf is, from my perspective, a good president and is doing his best to control the situation of Pak, although Bush does not think it is enough, but then that's just his excuse for attacking them later....
