Hi digi, great question as usual :-)
Hate attaches itself to one's energy field and prevents clear vision of others. As long as hate lingers between us and what we look upon, our vision is clouded as we see others through the cloud of hate that surrounds our being.
It's hard to understand why anyone would want to carry around that baggage and in the process deny themselves of the joy that lies outside their fog.
Does it eat one up from the inside out? Well, the word 'hate' contains the word 'ate' so we could see it as gobbling up the joy that blooms from gazing upon the divine within our brothers and sisters.
Namaste bro :-)

I know this one only too well.
I used to be full of anger & hatred towards my father, I carried it around like a ball of fire, carefully concealing it, keeping a lid on it so it was never seen.
But I soon realised that 'keeping a lid on it' was just eating me up & polluting my system like a cancerous growth. I turned this anger in on myself & simply carried on where my father had left off, giving myself a really hard time.
Once I owned my anger, did all the kicking & screaming & allowed myself to really get angry, then I was able to let it go & work on something better.
And its still an ongoing process.
With love & good wishes to you my friend.

I think the term 'living in hate' is a contradiction in terms. When you allow hate to live in your heart, you are not living. You are allowing yourself to be victim, and you cease to have power over your life. You will not grow. Life is growth. Living is growth. Hatred will never allow you to grow. It will drag you down unitl eventually you realize that you are not living....then you either stop hating, or you die.
Wow, that was negative. Sorry.
With love,
Shane K.

I think it can. I believe it can make you physically ill.
I see so much hate on this board sometimes.
If everyone would stop worrying about what other people believe, things would be much better.
What does it matter to an atheist if I believe in Christ? It doesn't affect them at all.
What does it matter to a Christian if an atheist does not believe? Accept and respect him/her. Preaching is only going to make things worse.

About the same amount of damage as living in fear.
Me, I live in the now.

Yes. I can't remember who said it, but I read a really good quote one time that said, "Holding a grudge is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die."
