Was she flirting?

Question

I get on well with a girl at work recently she has been teasing me quite a bit about something in particular, today I went to see her at her desk again she teased me and whilst doing so she made big smiles, was looking up at me and making good eye contact and stroking her hair.

Now I know that these are supposed to be signals of flirting, but are they really, or is it just friendly banter?

Could as many women as possible give their point of view as to whether they would act like this as a way to flirt. Thanks.

Flirting or friendly banter? Hard to say, some girls that are just really friendly could come across as being flirty. Id say look for an opportunity to get a really clear signal. Try this .....ask her? Laugh and say are you being friendly or are you flirting with me? If your being friendly I like it, if your flirting I love it. Lighthearted, friendly and a good opportunity to find out if you have a buddy or a potential date. Either can still turn out to be awesome and not awkward.

as you said fairly classic signals but some women have it in their blood just to tease - that said if she continues and continues and no sign of nothing happening, she is doing it in order to elicit certain responses and reactions from you - namely its up to you to get the ball rolling!

Personally if things feel right for you just bite the bullet and ask her to go for a drink after work and get to know her better and depending on the outcome of the evening the next time you could ask her out for a meal or to your house for a meal if your good cook and live alone!

I know all this is easier said than done but I think you have a very good chance - Go for it man - nothing will hurt you more than seeing someone else doing what YOU should be doing now

well honestly, sometimes i just do the whole "hair twirl" thing for fun, and to look girly. i do it in front of guys i dont really "like" like that....however sometimes i DO do it in front of guys i like too. so that can work either way.

as for the teasing..i think that's definetly a sign of flirting. when i like a guy i tease and kinda get them "playfully" annoyed at me. a cute kind of tease though, nothing you'd be too insulted by lol.

i'd say do exactly what she's doing back kinda...except the hair thing of course, that could be hard for you lol. see how she takes it, maybe she'll do something a little more out there next time to give you a clearer sign!

Careful brother, I fell into something like this before. some girls just pass the work time with playful teasing. Test the waters if your interested first. Otherwise going to work is going to become Very uncomfortable for both of you.

I would never act that way even if I was flirting. But it does sound like she is. Acting like that is not professional in a workplace, so I'm sure she's flirting cause she like you. Casually ask her to lunch one day and see what she says.

You read her correctly: she's flirting her booty off. She's being a bit sophomoric about it but nonetheless, she is putting the moves on you. You can feel secure taking up the pursuit if you be of a mind.

i think the playing with her hair and smiling is a major sign. and the eye contact..WHOA BOY :] lol. she is flirting. the teasing is her way of saying "hey i like you,but i don't want you to know". every girl does it. she wants you to look into her eyes, hints the eye contact. and she's probably nervous, the hair playing.....SHE'S FLIRTINGGGGG!!!

she is definately flirting, but majorly flirting, she hinting that she likes you, instead of asking you back to her place, so if you ended up in a relationship w/ her, she would probably want to take things slow
