well first you MUST file a police report. and have a warrant issued. once you have a copy of the police report, you go to the county clerks office, and file a small claims suit against her. from there it is just your word against hers, but having the police report in court will help alot.

I am sorry. When moments like that happen all you can do is sit & wait, or just forget about it and try to replace what you can of the unlawfully taken items. You cant sue without evidence because that makes it seem like an acusation and as if your just trying to get back at the person. If you have no witness because it also, just seems like an acusation. You can always call a law firm or local police department to find out where the person stays. Or you can call and say that your breifcase is missing and sit and hope that just luckily someone finds it.
hope this helps!

First, are you in the USA? I don't know international law. If you are in the USA the important thing to note is that in a civil case the burden of proof is a simple majority, not beyond a reasonable doubt like a criminal case. Meaning if you stood before a judge you wouldn't have to convince him beyond a reasonble doubt that she stole your stuff, he would only have to believe you more then her. Perhaps you could make the case that no one else had access to your belongings and she disappeared at the same time as your belongings. Hope that helps.

You can file a report. And have a watch put on pawn shop / resell stores... If she is the person pawning your belongings, she has to show I.D. & sign documentation for the items...
The police report is enough to show up on her credit report & cause her alarm to come to you to drop the charges.
