The term 'pro-abortion' is not used because the people say they believe the woman has the right to choose. Cannot pro-life people use that same argument? The women has the right to choose to have sex.

And yes I know i will get about 25 people saying 'so a women that was rapped should have to suffer more?' No, im not saying that.

hwinnum: thats right i never have been a foolish teenager.

Other people: dont get me wrong, i do believe there are exceptions. I just dont think people without any form of protection getting an abortion because they dont want a child is right.

I think it's fair to let each side choose their own label, as long as it's well understood. I don't "correct" people who call themselves "pro-life" -- it's a misdirection from the actual issue, regardless of who's doing it.

Calling people who believe in choice "pro-abortion" is intellectually dishonest, but it's dishonest when "our side" does it too.

I am pro-life, but that is my choice. I would never want my partner to have an abortion. I was a dad at 19 because of the way my x and myself felt. My son is now 11 and I couldn't imagine my life without him.

I think abortion is an easy way out. I have had many women aquantances that have abused the right to an abortion. I knaw one who has had three and talked very non chalantley about it.

That being said, I know for most women it is the hardest desicion they have ever had to make. I have not walked in there shoes and most of all, I have never had to be pregnant or give birth. For the people who trully cannot have a child, the right should remain. Like I made a personal moral choice, I believe everyone should have the same right.

If there is a higher power, the choice will be judged by him/her/it.

Pro-life people cannot use that same argument. Pro-choice people are not necissarily all for abortion - they just believe that a woman has the right to get rid of an unwanted fetus. The right to choose is not about the right to choose to do anything, it's the right to choose if they want to keep the fetus or not. The right to choose to have sex and the right to choose to have an abortion are two extremely different arguments.

Pro Choice 100 %

Well, no offense, but you're not being very clear about what you're saying here at all.

I personally am pro-choice, because I've had friends get themselves into a situation where they were forced to make that choice, and trust me, it's not easy. But it's their choice. No one, including the government, has the right to tell me what to do with my body. I'm not saying I'm pro-abortion, because I don't condone people using it as a form of birth control, but I do feel it's each woman's choice.

For myself, I am pro-life,however, it is not my place or position to pass judgment on anyone for making a personal decision to have an abortion, God gave us free will, and if I take someones choices away from them, I am taking away their God given right to choose. Also there is the old saying of until you walk a mile in someone else's shoes before you judge them is true. It is easy to degrade someone with your words and actions, but unless for example I am willing to take accountability by forcing someone to have a child by paying all medical expenses and the added responsibility of raising that child, it is none of my business or anyone elses what an individual decides.

You say you aren't saying that a woman who get's raped asked for it. But you can't state that sincerely unless you agree that there is a solution for her instead - abortion or the morning-after pill. You can't take both sides. It's one or the other. She has a right to choose to keep her rapists baby (and some women do) or she has the right to terminate the pregnancy brought about by evil and violence. What I know is this, without legalized abortion, more allweyway abortions will go on - killing more women.

I am pro life but there are circumstances where I can see abortion would be the only choice. For example the 12 year old girl who has been abused by her father and now she is pregnant. I don't think that girl should be forced to carry to term just to give it up for adoption or have her mom raise the baby. Plus life and death situation between mom and baby.

The term pro choice is used because as a pro choicer, I don't believe in abortion. I also don't believe it is my place to tell someone else how to live. I'm pro-let them decide for themselves.

I don't care what you label pro-life as, even though that "life" bit is up for debate. In reality it's anti-choice, and pro-tell others how to live.

what about ectopic pregnancies?
birth defect?
very young teens? (technically, if your under 18 or 16 you CAN'T chose to have sex, hence statutory rape)
and why should a woman have to prove she was raped to be allowed an abortion? have you ever been raped? do you knwo what it's like? do you think you'd want to talk about it? what if no one believed her? what if some woman WASN'T raped and wanted an abortion, don't you think she would cry rape to get one?

putting restrictions on it just makes more issues.
if you don't like abortions, don't have one. don't tell everyone else what to do with their bodies. how would you like it if someone told you what to do with YOUR body?

edit: what if birth control failed?
