How a person speaks tells me a lot more about a person then how they look. A person who can speak excellent English sounds so much smarter then a person who speaks less eloquently.

My husband is British and has excellent English. I guess it helps in certain areas of his life but people can also think he's 'snooty' even though he's the nicest guy most people could ever meet.

To the other poster --
Blacks don't call whites cracker. Or h-nkey for that matter.
It doesn't hurt to call you that and so there's no point. ROFL
Now -- really, Americans don't speak English. They speak "American" lol.
But yes it does help. Cleopatra was unattractive and yet men adored her. It is said she knew many languages fluently, was educated and had a "voice like running water".
That's hot right there.

In my experience the best communicators are usually at the top. Unfortunately that means good vocabulary and good English here in the US. Might not be right but that is how it is.

It doesn't hurt. It also doesn't hurt to be good looking, tall, and to dress well. Best of all is to come from a family with money and connections.
I don't know if it's fun to be there but I wouldn't mind trying it for a while.

In any culture, communication skills are valuable.
We have a real deficit with the current crop of kids.
I don't know how they expect to find paying jobs.
